My son and I were driving across the country a couple of weeks ago, and we stopped here to eat based on the reviews. We had decided to only support local restaurants on our journey. We received our drinks and I told the server we hadn't been in before and did she recommend the brisket tacos over another type of meat. She said yes, "you'll LOVE the brisket." My son ordered the California Burrito. After 40 minutes of waiting, and knowing we had 2 more hours on the road, I was finally able to get the server's attention and ask if it was going to be much longer for our food (it wasn't that busy.) She said we were next. I received my tacos and shortly after, the burrito. We had heard her tell another table they were out of creme, but she never told us. We immediately saw that the burrito was missing the guacamole and had very little meat. My tacos were horrible. What little meat there was, was so dry it was crunchy and stringy, but that's not the worst of it. One whole taco was fat, gristle and a huge vein. We were shocked and I was going to have the server take them back, but she disappeared and we didn't see her again for the remainder of our meal. At this point I was so hungry, I pulled out the edible meat and smothered the taco with the salsa (which was very good) and ate the tortillas and chips. No one ever came back to check on us, so I went up to the bar to request our bill. I was told our server was in the back "doing stuff" and she would get the bill for me. While I was standing there, our server came out of the kitchen, saw me, and abruptly turned around and went back through the doors. I paid the bill and we left without even a thank you for our business; in fact, I don't think we exchanged more than a few words with anyone. It wasn't a welcoming place to outsiders. We will not be back if we drive that way again. It was the only bad experience on our entire trip. I hope it was a fluke for the sake of future visitors who stop based on...
Read moreI honestly just had a top 3 wing from a small town in Texas and I’m not even joking.
As soon as I walked in, I was politely greeted by the waitress. She told me I could sit wherever I wanted to.
Within a minute of sitting down, she brought a menu out and took my drink order. Although I already knew what I wanted, I decided to quickly glance through the menu.
Another minute went by and she brought my water to the table and asked what I wanted to eat. I ordered the 15 piece lemon pepper chicken wing combo. She recommended their house sauce to dip my fries in and I couldn’t be any happier that she did.
While I was waiting on my food (maybe 10 minutes or so), I had the opportunity to talk with the waitress. She had a great personality and was very quick to answer any questions I had.
Next thing I know, the owner/cook (I believe) started walking out of the kitchen with a mountain of wings and he was heading directly towards my table.
Before trying the wings, I had to dip one of the perfectly cooked fries into that house sauce the waitress was telling me about. It was heavenly!!! I feel like it could have honestly been poured over a rusty bucket and I would have still enjoyed every bite.
The moment had finally come. I picked up one of the generous sized wings and proceeded to take a bite. The skin had an excellent crunch to it. The lemon pepper seasoning was just right and the chicken itself was very juicy and tender.
The icing on the cake was their homemade ranch. It could easily be described as god like. I’ll be telling my grandkids about this ranch one day.
I highly recommend stopping by and trying everything they make. I know I’ll be doing that here within the...
Read moreThe Patio is one of our favorite Gainesville places to eat and I hope they stay forever!! I started coming here during the covid-19 shut down when it was a food truck, and have been hooked on their pizza ever since.
Here are my favorite items I have tried:
Pizza, of course. The pizza is a New York style pizza that is absolutely huge. I have enjoyed getting pizza as a treat with my husband, and one is so large that we eat it for two meals. I have even had their pizza delivered to my job as a staff meeting meal because I want everyone to know how good it is! The dough is delicious, chewing with a slight crunch. The sauce is very tasty and usually I don’t like much sauce on my pizza. These are made to order and so fresh!
Brisket queso. Omg. I tried it once and now cannot stop thinking about it randomly. They give a generous amount of shredded brisket and mix it with their homemade queso. If I had one critique, and it’s a small one, is the chips are not made in restaurant, but I’m not necessary ordering this for the chips. I could put it on a shoe and it will still be tasty.
California burrito. Omg. I have tried each of the fillings (did I mention I like this place?) and my favorite would have to be carne asada. My husband prefers the chicken. You would think having fries in a burrito is weird and off putting, but try it. It’s very very good.
The owner is also a very nice guy. I haven’t actually sat down to dine here as we always get to go, but I imagine the service is good as the staff has been nothing but...
