Opus Coffee - UF Health East Tower — Restaurant in Gainesville

In the day and a half that we were in Gainesville, I visited this coffee shop four times! I am a tea drinker, and fell in love with their Florida Chai. It is AMAZING, with hints of citrus in addition to more traditional spices. My daughter ordered a traditional chai and it, too, was incredible, with layers of spices. Both teas had remarkable depth and were a true brew. Always a treat to get Opus in the mornings here at Shands. The coffee options are robust for a small location, they have three choices for drip coffee with all the fixings. Espresso machine is also pulling shots and steaming milks if that’s your thing.

Their drinks are around the same price as a Starbucks drink, which is to say slightly overpriced. They do not offer french presses or pour overs, so don’t set your sights too high. But for where and what it is Opus is all-around acceptable. Thanks for what...

This is for East Tower (since they don’t have a page for a review on Google, which seems like a real disadvantage) - East’s Opus location has INCREDIBLE employees with great work ethic and the best customer service around. All the employees always make me feel welcome and will accommodate any request, even for random things that don’t make sense and/or are abnormal (such as mint in a caramel macchiato). They build relationships with customers and maintain a great culture for this hospital tower. I love...
