I really don’t like to do this (leave a bad review) but I’m concerned that this hummus might actually make someone sick. I went in for lunch today with husband and ordered a Greek salad (good) and hummus to go. I decided to try the hummus while eating the salad and it was AWFUL. I mean DID NOT even closely resemble what hummus tastes like. I brought it to the counter and told her and she explained that a new staff member had made it and they were making a new batch. She said this with a laughing smile so they obviously knew it was a problem when they packaged up mine. (The one I brought back was a very dark brown color which was my first indication that it was weird. It was extremely runny.. and when I tasted it… omg I can’t even describe it. ) So they gave me the new hummus, and I didn’t want to press the issue further (because she let me taste a spoon of it) and I thought maybe it would get better if it sat. I was wrong. It is the worst tasting hummus I have ever had but I wouldn’t even call it hummus! Like if it was a matter of maybe too much cumin, or tahini, or garlic… you would be able to pinpoint that. This has something in it that is god awful. Either the chickpeas are bad, or the tahini is well past its expiry to basically not be good substance. Tzatzikis, you need to check quality control on your hummus!

I’d like to start by saying I know that the food LOOKS good. That’s what drew me in in the first place. But the food was very mid at BEST. I got the lamb gyro which was a fine size, and it came with chips and I got fruit as a side. The chips were normal, the gyro tasted like it had no flavor, and the fruit seemed like those bowls of fruit you get at a hospital. Wasn’t impressed or happy. Moving on to what my partner got—a chicken kebab feast. The chicken tasted very bland and just charred as the main flavor. The dressing on the salad tasted terrible and we couldn’t put our finger on why. I quickly realized it was because the salad, the dressing, AND the potatoes ordered as a side tasted like that weird chemical taste that you get when eating something that was shrink wrapped in plastic and just heated up in the microwave. Speaking of heating up, everything was room temp to cold. Couldn’t even finish the food as per the photo. Sorry to say this was an incredible waste of $30. Wouldn’t step foot here again.

Visited the place ( I am the guest in town and fond of Geek cuisine) . It was 5:40 p.m. 4 people around the table having deep conversation. No one else. I checked the menu. ordered something ( it was a long day for me), brought it into Marriott and... was extremely disappointed : the chicken in kebab did have some taste, the res - just no taste at all! Vegetables wasn't not cut, just chunked, look unpleasantly .No taste also . The "side" some unknown - maybe wheat porridge...hard to say - NO taste at all. Well, one star is for baclava, which was good.

*You are aware of my second visit? Ive been at your restaurant one time and never screamed at your crew. I think you are confusing me with somebody else. Or you just don’t want to take responsibility for being class-less.

It’s fairly simple. No matter how you try to spin this, you could have easily solved everything just by answering the phone and handing the order out at the door. Pretty easy solution. Every other cautious restaurant does this. It’s a win-win.

Instead you want to shift the focus on me, like I’m doing something wrong? I’m trying to work with you.

Have you considered how inconsiderate your policy is against those unfortunate enough to have asthma? Do you know anybody with severe asthma? Are you going to feel bad for anyone having an asthma attack on your restaurant floor or do you just not care? **

I was hired by your company to deliver an order as an independent contractor. When I arrived I was treated very disrespectfully by an employee named Jose. Pretty much every single restaurant in Gainesville has the basic human decency, (or at the very least they understand the term “reasonable accommodation”) when it comes to those unable to wear a face mask due to a medical condition. I don’t mind calling the restaurant to arrange the pick up and waiting outside (as a few other restaurants in the area do) What bothered me was the disrespectful tone I received when ordered to get out, and then being told to “go just go” when I respectfully explained my situation outside. Jose also seemed to be under the impression that I can be denied the order if “next time I’m not wearing a mask” which is not at all true, according to the ADA. The last restaurant to try this seemed to change their policy rather quickly once the owner found out. I will be recording the next encounter if I am not reasonably...

UPDATE: Even after our previous experience (see below), this past week my wife and decided to order from Taziki's again. We missed eating their great food. :-) We are very happy to report that when we pick up our order we found the restaurant to be spotless and all employees to be following all safeguards to prevent Covid-19 transmission. We would not hesitate to order again from Taziki's. They clearly take the safety of their customers and staff seriously and the food is darn good!

PREVIOUS REVIEW: Before the COVID-19 pandemic began, my wife and I frequently ate at Taziki's. The food is usually very good. Tonight we decided to take a chance and order take out. This is only the second time we ordered take out from a restaurant since mid-February. When I arrived to pick up our order, I was disappointed to see that the person working the grill/order prep area was not wearing her mask properly but rather had it on her chin with her mouth fully exposed!! During this time(about 5 minutes) she was also shouting orders to other workers who all fortunately were wearing their masks. I mentioned this to the cashier and she agreed. I also reminded the person not wearing her face mask as I was walking out. She just smiled and put the mask over her mouth. For restaurants to survive this financial crisis their employees have to act responsibly to protect their customers. There is much at stake here (such as an individual's life). Its clear that some people don't take it serious enough. This is proving to be a problem as the number of infected individuals in Florida is...

I hate to write bad reviews as anyone who looks at my previous reviews can see, but sometimes it's the only way for owners/managers to know when they've got a problem. I walked in Friday, 8/15, at 6:40 p.m. to place a to go order. The young lady who helped me was very nice although appeared to be a little new and had a few issues in getting my order entered. No biggie. Everyone has to start somewhere. So as I sit in the waiting area, in plain view of all of the employees, I see two different sets of people come in, place orders to go, wait a little while, and then they get their to go orders. I stood up a couple of times to let them know I was waiting on my order. At 7:30 p.m., almost an hour after I placed my initial order, another employee comes out and asks if I have an order to pick up. I tell her that I actually placed my order, in person, almost an hour ago. She then says, "Oh, sorry. We just ran out of lamb." What did I order you ask? Two dishes with lamb in them, along with appetizers, etc. Shaking my head I just ask for my money back, close to $50 which this restaurant evidently can do without. I don't know that I'll try this place again any time soon. They seem to be short staffed, especially on a Friday night, and no one seems to really be keeping track of orders, who placed them, when they were placed, etc. The food may be amazing, but I can't really say as they ran out of what I ordered almost an hour after...
