Ay! Jalisco Restaurant — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

Friends and I visited this past weekend and the entire experience was not good. After waiting 50 minutes for our food, the quality and quantity left a lot to be desired. The rice was nothing but a rice a roni, not authentic at all and in no way Spanish. The fajitas I ordered had very tough steak and burnt chicken with very little for add ins. A small amount of fried onion, even less guacamole, and sour cream to where I couldn't even put together two decent fajitas that could include all the ingredients. I was very disappointed and actually left the remaining food (which was at least 75% of the meal) on the table which I make a point to never do. I had no desire to take the remainder with me. None of the staff spoke English very well, if they had I would have refused to pay. At this point I just wanted to leave. After leaving, myself and a friend had extreme stomach distress causing us to spend the first 45 minutes of a concert we were in town to attend in the bathroom. Ordered through Uber eats but did a pick up. Customer service was awful! Granted there were two servers working the floor, the restaurant wasn’t busy or crowded at all when we arrived. (I have years of serving experience, they were not enough people dining in to be overwhelmed) We came in and signed in and told them we were picking up our food, we were completely ignored for over 10 minutes. Both servers kept walking right past us, did not make any eye contact, and even ignored me completely when I tried to speak to one of the servers. When she finally did come over to us she didn’t even remember what name our order was! Never even went to get it together. When another server came in for her shift within three minutes we had our food.

The food was mediocre, it wasn’t hot. The tamales were very oily and soggy and the tacos (get this) no salsa! They didn’t even put any salsa verde or rojo in the bag, none on the food, just pico covered completely in sour cream. The other location on Snouffer School has never...

Truthfully I have gone to the one on Snouffer School Rd plenty and have enjoyed it very much. Today I was in a rush with my best friend and decided to stop here instead. We were greeted and served drinks, the tap for beer was broken even though their specials were only based on draft. It took forever (12 min) to get a menu and a family was attended to first with menus and orders taken before my friend and I HAD to ask for a menu. Then it took at least 10 minutes for someone to return to us just to place the order. The food was good . I can't complain about that until we had a visitor at the bar that was a COCKROACH!! Overall terrible experience and won't be returning. If it wasn't for my heart, my friend would have not left a tip. The worst part of all is that there was only a take out order before us and then the family that was after us but served before us. 2 tables and a carry out and it took almost half a hour to place an order for food.
