I have taken off the 2 stars to awaken the management of this Indian restaurant to a very important fact which they should know before imposing this particular rule on customers. Rule: If Customer does not dine-in, then they cannot access the Dining area to sit down for a glass of Juice and has to take a carry-out. I want to inform the management of this joint that having real fruit juices( such as sugarcane/orange/mango/lime juices) along with food causes obesity and a multitude of digestive issues. Also, there must be a reasonable time gap between consuming fruits or fruit juices and taking meals. ( google for more info). So, logically if a person wants to have a fruit juice then he/she cannot place a food order within an Hour. Also, if a person has had a meal in the restaurant, but also is interested in having a sugarcane juice then he or she has to either have to-go meal or Juice. In either case that person is now bounded to take the takeout and put it in the refrigerator at home as soon as possible, that means if there are any other plans to go and visit another store, then now it is not feasible especially during the summer. Also, I have noticed that during any given time of the day or in the weekdays there are no more that 2 tables occupied by customers for dining while rest of the 12 or so tables are waiting for more customers. If the joint removes the above rule I am sure many more tables would be occupied as the experience of having a glass of juice in one of ur favorite joints is really uplifting. Hope the management takes note of my suggestion. The 3 stars I have given to Hot Breads in Gaithersburg is for the excellent food cooked by Trilok as well as the sugarcane juice, a rarity nostalgic drink reminding us of India when we would drink a Mega-glass full of the energizer after a tough day in college for just 1...
Read moreFirstly, this place smells and looks nothing like a bakery. I seems more like an indian restaurant moonlighting as a bakery. Never the less, I placed an order 2 weeks in advance to have 30 cupcakes and 1 small cake to be made for my son's birthday. On the day of pick-up, I arrived on right time to collect the cakes and I was told to give them 5 minutes more - I was already on tight schedule between collecting the cakes and getting to the party location. After about 15 mins, they brought my cakes out and they looked nothing like what they were supposed to look like. The frosting (which was supposed to be the faces of the characters from the kids TV show Yo Gabba Gabba) was sloppily done. Some faces were missing eyes, some where missing mouths and it looked like a 5 year old child did it in 5 mins. I was absoutely horrified! The cake was equally sloppy. The "Happy Birthday" on the cake was written very small and in awful handwriting - it was almost illegible. The design on the cake also looked nothing like what was discussed. For both the cupcakes and the cake, the icing was suppose to be fondant and I got whipped cream. And I ordered chocolate mousse cake and I got vanilla. This was absolutely horrible service! For the price I paid and the amount of time they had, this was unacceptable. I will never patronize this...
Read moreWas really Great Once back in 2018-2021 when I first came to East Coast. Just today 1/28/2022. I ordered a Chicken Dum Biryani, The taste seemed different than usual, But not bad, I guess the management and Chef changed to Bengali cause I used to hear Hindi, Tamil, Telugu songs for past 3 years from the Kitchen, but today I heard Bengali songs from Kitchen. Anyway It wasn’t as usual but taste was different wasn’t as great as before. But Below average, I thought I will give the benefit of doubt to Cook, Maybe He’s having a bad day.
Next I ordered a Togo for my kid, Rasberry Tart (Vegan), Lava Chocolate Cake (Vegan) and Butter scotch (Vegan) cakes, Only the names are tasty. The Rasberry Tart had Green powder in it basically Fungus culture in there, didn’t knew they started a microbiology lab in there. The Chocolate Lava Cake and Rasberry Cake had sour taste in there as of like food left over and spoilt and Juices seeped into the cakes tastes. Probably the old Management/owners baked these cakes in their reign, and the new owners were lazy to bake them fresh.
Disappointed, The last but one restaurant in DMV, area’s gone...
