Came for dinner without reservations, and quickly felt that making one would have been a good idea. There’s a screen blocking part of the restaurant from the street and all I saw was a long table filled with people who appeared to be of Indian ethnicity. My pace quickened in anticipation; would there be a table available at an establishment receiving such a resounding endorsement? One of the waiters held the door open for me as I approached the entrance. Thankfully, he warmly welcomed me to one of the last two tables behind the screen. 6:00 pm and the place was packed. We ordered their non-appetizer samosas and a Dosa for appetizer. The samosa was covered in a spicy chickpea sauce that encouraged you to keep coming for more. Only downside was the temperature of the dish which was a little lukewarm. The Dosa, being the namesake, had to be good. It was. I probably had no idea how to eat it, because there was great difficulty using the 4 provided sauces. It was like a massive paper thin burrito shell filled with samosa filling. A fun party dish - expect to eat with hands. For the mains we had chicken vindaloo and chicken... the subcontinental speciality one. Both were excellent if on the salty side. Also ordered garlic naan which was very flat and rather hard - a bit disappointing. Also ordered the Pav bread, which was lightly roasted potato rolls and surprisingly more satisfying than the naan. All dishes had the option of mild or hot. Hot is about Thai pepper hot, mild is not spicy at all. Cups were metal, stainless steel maybe. Water was served in a carafe with a few spirits of mint, but the mint didn’t seem too prominent. Plates were plastic. Ceramic would really make the experience feel more refined. Some dishes tasted to salty. No knives, and maybe I’m eating some of the dishes wrong, but a few extra spoons could help. Some classics are missing such as malai kofta. This place is rather new. The service is absolutely excellent. Food was served quickly despite the massive group seated ahead of us. Waiters were prompt and attentive. I would recommend giving this place a chance and expect it to improve with time. They need to iron out a few issues and then it’s an easy five stars.

OMG, OMG, OMG! I haven't been this happy with a food delivery order in years! We ordered through GrubHub. I'm a potato fanatic, so all three dishes I ordered contained potatoes. šŸ˜ Masala Dosa, Vada Pav, and Saag Aloo. You can choose your level of spiciness on the Saag Aloo - I went with "American" and honestly probably could've gone up by 1, but have friends who would've found the American level spiciness just right for their pallets. The flavors were spot on and the dosa was apply filled, unlike some other places I've been where it's just a smear of basically flavorful mashed potatoes. These were lumpy and and oh so good! The Dosa came with three difference sauces/chutney (see photos). This is the first time I've ever had Vada Pav. I thought I was the only person who puts cilantro chutney in their sandwiches...didn't know it was thing. I totally thought I made that up. These little potato ... ... sliders (?)... ... we're just šŸ‘ŒšŸ˜˜ in flavor, consistency and pure joy. I have no reference for what these *should* taste like but if it's anything different than this, I don't want it! Finally, the Saag Aloo is a dish I've had at nearly every restaurant. What was different here was the potatoes were a nice size and not cut into tiny cubes which made for a nice balance of flavor. All the food arrived piping hot despite traveling from the Kentlands down to near MacArthur Blvd in Cabin John, MD. A testament to both the delivery driver and the restaurant handing the driver a nice hot dish.

This is a fairly new place in Kentlands right next to the much older Hot Breads. I suspect the owner of Hot Breads has partitioned his restaurant (which was pretty mediocre) into two and either sold it off or given it to his kith and kin (almost everyone there was twenty something). This is a classic case of if you start off with something mediocre you will end with something below average. We went there on a Sunday evening, a prime time for restaurants. The wait staff was listlessly ambling around and for the most part ignoring the customers. We waited at the door of an almost empty restaurant for a good 5 mins. before a young man with a cap came by and negligently waved us to an empty table. We sat another 5 minutes before he came back and wordlessly dumped some menus on the table before drifting off. His facial expression was one of boredom bordering disgust and his body language of one under the influence. By this time our expectations were rock bottom and the food did not fail to disappoint us. We ordered various chaat items (Indian street food) that are served crisp and hot and tangy. Strike out all three count. The food was soggy, tepid and tasteless. The only redeeming aspect was their Indian Coffee which was close to the South Indian flavor popular in India. This is a terrible place with really bad service and lousy attitude. If you get the waiter with the cap, don’t walk, run.

I normally never write reviews like this but this food was just horrible. The food was actually horrible. We expected it be good and drove almost 30 minutes for this food. We were doing a to-go order. They were showing attitude and didn’t have any patience at all. They were making us rush while ordering, which is not a way to deal with people who are purchasing your restaurants food. The green chutney was horrible it tasted expired. All the food had so much red color for food dyes. The Gobi 65 had no flavor at all and didn’t taste like anything. The chicken lollipop was so sweet it didn’t taste good at all. The mirchi bajji was decent. The noodles had raw cabbage not even cooked. The fried rice was decent among everything we had. All the food that we tried were not good it ruined our dinner. Another thing was the price was crazy it was over $100 for like 4 items, I was actually surprised cause many higher stars restaurants don’t even charge this much for food. They were also asking for gratuity which is crazy. One of the things we noticed while waiting for our food it they just put all the desserts in the fridge to put it back on the shelves to sell again, this just makes it taste stale and rotten. There was also some bread on one of the other shelves I felt it thinking of buying it, but it was as hard as a rock, it was sweet bun bread which is supposed to be soft. They took so long to bring the food out and it was still not good. I was very disappointed. I was also surprised they got certificates for recognitions. I’m surprised they have this many good reviews. The food is truly horrible. I would not recommend getting anything here. The food also had a weird smell which wasnt appetizing at all. I would literally rather eat at a 1 star restaurant than eat at this disgusting restaurant ever again. I will not be coming back to this establish ever again. It was a really...
