Bonefish Grill is located in Kentlands near the Red Door Spa. It's a popular place to go for lunch. In the bar area, there are a few tv's, bar seating, and high top tables - perfect for corporate happy hour, watching sports, or grabbing bar bites. In the dining room, there are booths and tables. They were playing hit songs from the 1970's and 1980's. The restaurant was decorated with lit metal fishes and island sculptures. The service was a bit slow as they have only two servers. Our server Chris was nice, polite, and friendly. Honestly, I love the delicious food but wish the portion size of the entrees were larger.
For drinks, my mom and I had Arnold Palmer's but requested their Honest Raspberry Iced Tea to be blended with their homemade lemonade. It was served over ice and garnished with a fresh raspberry. I liked how it wasn't sour but it was pretty sweet to me. I was surprised that they didn't serve bread and butter during the meal. For entrees, I ordered Lily's Salmon. Since I'm not a big fan of goat cheese, I had the choice of switching to Danish Blue or Feta Cheese. Lily's Salmon was marinated and grilled with special seasoning, topped with sauteed spinach, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, and garnished with chopped fresh basil, in lemon basil sauce. The salmon was tender and quite flavor. The Lily's Salmon came with a choice of side - house made french fries, pesto couscous, or coleslaw. I substituted my side for a Bonefish House Salad. The Bonefish House Salad consisted of freshly cut romaine lettuce, hearts of palm, kalamata olives, and grape tomatoes, garnished with pumpkin seeds, and served with citrus herb vinaigrette on the side. My mom ordered the Grilled Fresh Fish of the Day, which was Arctic Char, described as a mix between salmon and trout. The Grilled Arctic Char was marinated and grilled with special seasoning, topped with one of their Signature sauces - Mango Salsa. My mom substituted her side for a Caesar Salad. The Caesar Salad consisted of freshly cut romaine lettuce, garnished with croutons and grated parmesan, and served with garlicky Caesar dressing...
Read moreStopped in around 5 pm for dinner with the family on Saturday Night. It was early, and we had made a reservation. We were greeted and quickly seated. There were only a few tables seated, but by the time our meal ended an hour later, the place was packed.
After going through the revolving doors you are met with two sections. The bar, which has bar seating and additional seating, and the main dining room which has booths and tables. Open, light and easy to move around. Overhead music could have been turned down a notch or two, but overall a good atmosphere.
We have eaten here before and for dinner we started with one of our favorites - Bang Bang Shrimp. Spicy coated breaded shrimp on a bed of lettuce - pretty tasty. Bread and olive oil with spices (pesto) is provided at all tables. For dinner we had the crab cake appetizer, side salad, 7 oz filet with broccoli and mashed potatoes and fish and chips. I had been wanting fish and chips for awhile, and this was crispy, light and flaky. Well done. The crab cakes are also highly recommended. My wife loved them. For dessert we had the special - Pumpkin Lava Cake. Well presented. For drinks we had the Coral Reef Punch and wine. Overall a very good meal.
Our server was Carly M. Excellent job. Met us quickly after we sat down, and gave us time to review and make choices. Quick to follow up and ensure we were enjoying our meal and to see if we needed anything. Overall, great service.
So a great meal, great service and then off to the movies. Check this out, and I...

Food is well cooked, the staff is knowledgeable and ...the bang bang shrimp is off the charts!
I like the ambiance and the fact that no matter when you go, this place seems to be packed. You know you are at a good joint when that happens.
As far as choices, I am satisfied. The prices, well they are okay. Could be better. I normally get the rare tuna accompanied by whatever the waiter suggests, wife gets the salmon...the tuna is great, salmon generally is okay...I don't care much for it, but hey its not my plate.
Stars:
Food - well cooked, good choices, I like that you can choose your cooking style..extra point for bang bang shrimp of course....that well cooked, mayo laced crustacean with a bit of that crisp cold lettuce cannot be beat...
Service - Excellent staff, well versed in their knowledge of the menu, seafood and daily specials. Clean, professional and very attentive
Atmosphere - dimly lit, clean, packed to the T and overall wonderful
Location - In Ashburn...middle of no where land...Love it when I visit the area though or I'll just go to the one in FFX
Family Friendly - Yep, except for the occasional wait, this place is great. Kind of scared to take screaming kids here b/c you can tell there are a lot of couples who just dropped their monsters off to have a night of peace and quiet.
Would I return - Of course -- that mayo laced crustacean dish has my name written...
