Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Galesburg

I really try not to complain, but today's experience was absolutely awful. My cousin had made a reservation for her son's birthday a week ahead of today. It took and hour and forty five minutes to get our food, which, of course was cold by the time it was served to us. The dishwasher is broken, so our waitress had to hand wash silverware so we could have some and half of us still received plasticware. One employee (black shirt, short blonde hair) even used our party to tell other customers that we were the reason for the delay in service! Really?! And to top it off for the rest of the incoming customers, they had run out of pancake mix. Once we finally received our bills (it's now close to 1:30p from our 11am reservation time) we went to pay and the girl taking the money had only a look of pure annoyance on her face. She said nothing at all. The customer service, food and overall experience was horrible and extremely unprofessional. I absolutely understand being short staffed, it happens. However, when a restaurant is aware of a large party coming in (a week ahead of time) and (should) be aware of a large event happening in town (ANNUAL Stearman Fly-In), the staffing and supplies should be in place to cover. And if staff members can't provide proper customer service on the floor, maybe give them some training or move them to a different position. They were actually locking up the restaurant as we and the other customers were leaving. That's a HUGE LOSS...

We were seated immediately by a nice hostess. She took our drink order and brought us our drinks. The waitress Cloe came and ask us if we were ready. That is all she said. My husband ordered chicken strips for appetizer, but they came with his cold fries and cold Patty melt. They obviously forgot about his appetizer because the appetizer was hot. I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich with chicken tortilla soup or fries. The sandwich was cold and there was nothing but broth in my soup. My daughter order a chicken salad sandwich with chicken tortilla soup or fries. We were both charged for the soup! Again nothing but broth and where were the tortillas? The man who was seated behind us, after we came in, received his food a while before us. The waitress took the man behind us a drink refill but never checked on us, and when we were finished with our food she asked if we wanted refills. She then brought us the check before asking us if we would like dessert. In the meantime the man across from us had asked for 2 pieces of wheat toast and his wife had to go up and ask for the toast.

The bathrooms needed some attention. The trash can was overflowing onto the floor. We witnessed several employees standing around. For $52.73 it wasn’t a pleasant...

I gave it one star because there wasnt a way to give it no stars. We are in town visiting our son at knox after a long day we where researching restaurants and found meals we really wanted. After getting to the restaurant there where 2 parties waiting, we waited 15 minutes before the girl came back to the front 3 people had walked In since us i had to make sure they hostess new we where there first. We got seated the hostess said girl would be with us shortly or she would be back. She seated the people after us, they had there drink orders taken first then the girl took ours, about 10 minutes and no drinks then see hostess seat a table and take there drinks at the same time. We decided to leave since bf who is diabetic needs to eat by a certain time. On the way out told lady at cash register to cancel are drinks we are leaving, waited for our drinks and see them taking drink orders of people seated after us. She said we are short 2 people didnt they tell you it would be 45 minutes. This is after we have already been there for a half hour. I told her we where from out of town and was looking forward to eating there she was very rude and said have a good night. Not even caring customers...
