I visited this location and when I got to the speaker they asked me to hold for so long that I thought they had forgotten we were there. When finally pulled up to the window. We again had to wait on chicken tenders. Finally, we get our order and it was missing the cheese sauce for the baked potato. I asked the window attendant, “Can I please have some cheese?” She said, “It’s in the bag.” I pulled everything thing out of all the bags. And there was no cheese. I said, “Ma’am there’s no cheese.” She said, “It’s in there.” “Where?”, I said. “With the potatoes,” she replied. I showed her the bag. Then she turned to the inside and said, “They said there’s no cheese.” I said, “ I’m not saying there is no cheese. You can see the bag. Butter and sour cream only.” The other young woman said again, “It’s in there.” I said, “I’m not a magician. Everything is here and there’s no cheese. Just please give me some cheese. I’ll pay for if it’s that big of a deal.” She filled a small black container with cheese and brought it to the window. “Here!”, she said shoving it out the window. “You want the cheese don’t you.” I took the cheese and we drove off.
Is Wendy’s staff trained to be that suspicious of customers. I never left the window or out of her sight. Clearly there was no cheese in the bag. And instead of just apologizing and giving me a container of cheese. They had to be rude and turned my experience into a negative one that has me now writing this long note. I was never impolite and I only wanted what I paid for. Why is that so hard? Do it right and we don’t have a problem. Be polite when you right or wrong. It just cheese people. I glad I wasn’t...
Read moreKind of tired of all the fast food on the island. It has all plummeted since the pandemic, and never recovered. This from a fast food junkie, or ex-junkie. Wendy's fall has been especially perplexing, since it has basically been the same guy running it for ages and you hear his voice through the same loudspeaker like he is Wendy's personified, so you can't blame change in management. Nor can you blame price, since they have increased it with inflation accordingly. Last order I've had plastic tasting bacon, dark and bitter fries, and melted frosty. You would think the freshest fries if there is a line, but nope. If you ordered on the app, the meal is already bagged ahead of time, using the leftover fries from the same overused frying oil. The meat just doesn't have a flavor anymore other than that stinging, old oil grill taste. They've cheapened out so much even the bag that holds your food tears like bath tissue. No matter how delicately I try to peel away the seal, the whole thing will inevitably tear and dump fries everywhere. I hate when they think I'm some uber eats driver that will spit in customers food so they place a chastity belt on it. Everything is super greasy inside, from the fries box to the outside of the burger wrapper. Simple orders can miss an entire meat patty or multiple nuggets. Nowadays I'm far happier air frying some frozen fries from the store and tossing a frozen patty on the stove. Not because the taste is amazing, but because every fast food joint on the island costs more, tastes worse, and is a nightmare...
Read morePast experiences with Wendy's haven't been great. The food is great but the wait is always so long. Went to the drive-thru around two months ago and had to wait an hour to get through it. The guy in front of us was having a problem with his order and a bag kept going between the clerk and the guy in the car before the guy pulled away. We pulled up to the window and they hand us the bag they've been passing back and forth and we can tell -- the bag has oil spots on it because the fries have been sitting in it for awhile, and the top of the bag is crinkled from grabbing. We literally have to argue back and forth with the cashier for another 3-5 minutes before they remake our food, not understanding that we don't want food that's been sitting for awhile that a complete stranger has been handling.
This time I went into the lobby. Wait was only 30 minutes this time, but they gave me a dine-in when I wanted to-go. Never handed me my receipt and I feel like they did that so I couldn't fill out the survey on the back. Food was good as usual, people were a lot friendlier than before so that's nice. But my previous experience has kind of soured Galveston's Wendy's for me. Which sucks because I love their...
