Great Gifts from Saipan and fresh homemade drinks to chill your afternoon.
If youâre looking for great Saipan treasures and gifts to take home or send to friends or just some of the worldâs best alcohol or alcohol-free cocktails, try Marianas Creations located at Micro Beach Rd, Saipan, 96950, Northern Mariana Islands, open daily except on Sunday from 1100 to 2100 hours (9 PM). Marianas Creations can be found online at marinascreations.com or collocated with the infamous Axe Murderer Dive Shop and Tours on Saipan and beside the incredibly great eatery called Everest Kitchen, which features Nepalese and Mediterranean cuisine. I found beautiful crowns to be worn on the forehead made from shells by a local artist for my daughter and nieces. Elina makes her own Ginger Ale and Cucumber Soda from locally grown produce; both are incredibly good. My personal favorite mixed drinks were the Dark & Stormy (dark rum and house-made ginger ale), the Watermelon Mules and Moitos (with locally grown and hand-pressed watermelon nectar), the Horse Feather (with whisky and ginger ale), and the Saipan Mule (with Vodka, hand-squeezed lime juice, and ginger ale). But there are many other drinks, some seasonal made from locally harvested fresh fruits I simply did not have time to try. Elina also offers locally produce art from artists in Saipan, Tinian, and Rota Islands. Stop by for Thursday Trivia, and Elina can offer you packages of locally blended ground or whole-bean Saipan coffee and some of the best hot sauces available in the world, and I have tasted hot sauces in 94 countries. It is really well-balanced and blended and would be great on your chicken dishes, omelets, beans & rice, and many other of your personal culinary creations. Another great gift idea other than the beautiful art displayed and for sale in the establishment is Elinaâs personally made exotic jams and jellies from her island farm. Donât miss this opportunity when on Saipan for...
Read moreAfter 5 days in Saipan, driving through the whole island, I can say that Marianas Creations was not only my favorite, but also one of the best restaurants thanks for the foods, arts, services, and warm greetings from the owner.
The owner is an artist herself and wanted to introduce local arts works of Saipan. So she made this place like a gallery. The foods and drinks later came in to support the place.
She is also the cook for the place having made all the recipes of the foods here.
Food : Pulled port nachos was one of the best foods I have had in the islands for a week. If I were to spend more time, My wife and I would have become regulars. I found a tendancy of travellers in Saipan; they tend to visit the same restaurant multiple times even for a short trip. Now I see why. The island has a full of restaurants, of course, but the best ones that really satisfy your taste and deserve the money are rare. This restaurant is one of only two restaurants that we would be happy to visit again (I am posting reviews only for the two from this trip).
When my wife and I are on a trip, we always look for a local gallery, museum, and nice coffee. They are the only gallery I found in Saipan, of which arts works were great and their coffee made of local beans was also great.
I am posting this review for other travellers that are looking for good foods and a place for inspiration. Hope this place flourish, growing the art scene...
Read moreThis is one of the coolest bar/cafes in Saipan, where you can try craft beers. The vibe is very comfortable and laid back, with the walls displaying a wide range of local art work for sale (I have a cool mural made by one of the local schools hanging on my wall at home). This community connection aspect is probably the coolest part of Marianas Creations - as their name suggests, they focus on locally produced beer, food, artwork, crafts, jewelry, etc.. Their lounge area is crowded with a variety of local Marianas creations. In any given week, they may be hosting an art show, which sometimes doubles as a fundraiser for a local school. Or there may be some kind of guest catered food to try, a perhaps a home made soft drink (my kids are often asking about when they will have the fruit popsicles again) or a different beer, rum, whiskey, or other treat. It is an organic and fun environment where some of the fun is in finding...
