Oh how the mighty have fallen. I've been eating here since it first opened out at the airport some 20 years ago. It's never been this bad.
I think everybody on staff was new. I felt bad for the waitstaff because they clearly weren't trained well. The food was inedible. Chef's loaded up the alfredo sauce with enough garlic to end the Twilight series 2 books early.
The table next to us also complained about the food being inedible after we did. They were told that the normal chefs are on vacation for Christmas break so they have replacements in. Great that people are on vacation, but if you can't cook the food without them then you need to just close the restaurant. You can't expect your customers to pay $20-25 pre-tip per plate for inedible mess.
Not to mention sometime in the last few months, their specialty meals no longer come with salads. Had always gotten salads for 20 years of eating there. No more - now it's an upcharge on top of already increased prices. As of writing their website still says that meals come with a salad. After 20 years of getting a salad you'd think you'd warn your customers or offer some notice. Instead when I asked if the meal still came with a salad the waitress said "I can add a house salad to your meal". How about just say "no, it does not".
Neither of us came close to finishing our meals, they were genuinely inedible. They gave us 50% off, which was the right thing to do. Still came to 26 (so would have been 54) and change for 2 plates of food and 2 pops, no sides, no salads, no dips.
The manager came over to talk to us but was just incredibly rude and insisted that nothing was wrong with our meals. Look - I like to eat. I would always rather scarf down something mediocre instead of going hungry. This wasn't bland it was disgusting.
Pretty wild. Used to be a nice splurge every few months. Don't know if I'll bother ever going back anymore. I miss the salad and am priced out of the experience, even if the food was better.
I used to be sad that Olive Garden was going to come to town and kill Napoli's. Now I can't wait for breadsticks and salad with my meal again.
Update: My girlfriend was nauseous the rest of the day and up sick all night. Eventually she was able to throw up and that helped. All she ate yesterday was Napoli's and it all tasted terrible. We've both agreed it's not worth...
Read moreI have not been to this restaurant I have not been a customer. I am somebody that reviews online menus restaurants post and quite often I look at the reviews. In return I use this information to recommend restaurants to people who going on vacation or traveling for business. This I believe can all be cleared up for the customers and employees.. I believe the people making the positive comments are really sincere that they did have good experience at Napoli's.. But I also feel that the people with the bad experiences were just as sincere.. If it's not a policy of this establishment to allow their employees to add a 30 percent tip to the ticket then I think there's something definitely wrong right there with customer service...... It sounds to me like there are some of the staff that just needs to be retrained or trained for the first time Also management has to believe the customers making the complaints and concerns are telling the truth. These are the weak spots managment should start with..After all it was said several times in the responses that was made",Napoli's needs to know basically if we're getting it right." . Customers give them some time to improve..And give Napoli'another chance....Managers and Employees listen to the comments the customers made. Improve your procedures and see if your wages and total earnings don't improve.,Thank for letting me post this comment.......I worked for seventeen year's in customer service. Often I trained front of house staff. Plus I really liked the menu Napoli's offers it's well rounded and all sounds good !!!! Thank you...
Read moreMy visit tonight could have been so much better. We were seated right away, that was the good part of the visit. We.. were a party of 3. Menus were given at that time. Drink orders went in approximately 8 minutes later. Then another waitress stopped by [because we did have drinks 5 minutes after that] to ask us about drinks. We stated they had been ordered. She then asked if we were ready to order, sure! She takes the order and off she goes. Along came drinks, I had to ask for straws. We sat, chatted, refilled drinks, chatted and then chatted some more. Oh, here come the salads and cheese bread FULL OF GARLIC! SO MUCH THAT THE BREAD HAD A SPICY KICK TO IT. We finished the salads and sat.... it was an hour before we got out food. After getting the food, no more waitress,,,EVER. The food was. "warm". No breadsticks or dinner rolls. First time for me going to an Italian restaurant and getting no bread with my meal. BUT, I did have a bowl of single butter packs... for my... pasta??? No refills, no empty plates cleared from the table, nothing. We went to the counter to pay and that even became complicated for the lady.
I can say that I heard about the service/ food prior to my visit but I wanted to see for myself. Some folks are VERY picky when eating out. I'm " average" I don't complain about but will always give my honest opinion. They need to step it up a bit or it will not last.
So thats they latest for this place tonight. Maybe visit and see for yourself and give your review. I'm...
