Face it, you go to Buco for the HUGE servings of good food at reasonable prices, fabulous friendly service, nice atmosphere and great historical pictures. The food is prepared so most people can enjoy it. Many of you MUST remember to use the salt, pepper and cheese provided on the table! You CAN request additional sauce on the side! Your server will do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to make your meal enjoyable. PLEASE TIP appropriately! My young nieces were given extra crayons and combo coloring, drawing & game pages. I found my experience very enjoyable. I did add pepper, cheese and extra sauce to my plated meal. I don't generally eat fried foods (because I just don't enjoy the taste and texture anymore), but the Chicken Parmesan was ordered and TOTALLY ENJOYED by me after additional seasoning and sauce. The Fettuccine was good and made MUCH better with pepper, cheese and a little liquid added to it. I generally don't eat tomatoes whether chopped or sauced but I did try the Bruschetta for the first time. If I regularly ate tomatoes, this would be a daily dish for me. I didn't season it. The thin toast slices delivered the tasty tomato concoction in a fun, casual way. This could be a party favorite for finger food enthusiasts and tomato lovers. Many at a neighboring table enjoyed a HUGE ice cream sundae plus birthday song by the wait staff. FUN! I enjoyed looking at the artwork near my table. I appreciated that my WALKER was folded and kept at my table for quick use if needed. Very convenient and important to me. The dining areas are divided into several rooms so that even with the crazy amount of diners, the aisles were quickly cleared after drink and food was served. The To-Go containers are oven safe (remove the cover before heating). Nice! I TOTALLY enjoyed my first time at Buca and I do hope that some of my comments make your first or next visit a more...
Read moreIts our first time and very disappointed!
Poor service, they will not offer you anything, or even ask you if its your first time you'll ended up on keep asking different server till you get what you need If your by yourself they don't serve small portion on dinner they will charge you for the price of family serve 3 but the portion is only good for ONE (Or should I say they will not tell you how much you would pay if its your first time, even if I clearly tell them the size/portion of what I need they just take order and pretend she didn't hear anything good thing there's another lady who pass by and I add an order and clearly say per person because I'm the only one who can eat that order, but she told me thats not how they serve the dinner they only serve family portion "Good for three " but its on little tiny plate. We ended up paying $100⬆️ for the food that we didn't enjoy. Me and hubby is so excited to eat Italian food, and we are so hungry as well.but we really are disappointed and regret of choosing to eat here. The food is so dry no sauce especially the lasagna, and the spicy shrimp it says they will give you a spicy sauce they will just give you a golden fried shrimp with no sauce and the calamari is so tiny like a size of a ring and i ask for extra sauce because they'll give you a small portion and thick dry, (it looks old, taste old) then there's missing order but we ask for another server for our missing order (soda &garlic bread).and they put too much butter on the garlic bread. the place is not busy when we get there. This place is recommended by my friend for my wedding reception supposedly. But really for $100 you atleast expect a decent food. It looks nice in the photo right (I thought so too) when I checked their Google place photos and their menus. And...
Read moreWe usually dine in at Buca during BF"s birthday month, as we get some cool birthday perks as part of Buca's rewards program. We were around the Anaheim area and decided to stop by Garden Grove's Buca for a change (we usually go to Pasadena). Parking was definitely more convenient here with the dedicated lot shared by Buca and hotels.
Our wait was 30 minutes for a Sunday night dinner. Once seated, we ordered several things that may very well be our Buca staples now:
Margherita pizza ($24) Chicken parmigiana ($38) Spaghetti with meatballs ($38) comes with two meatballs Colossal brownie sundae ($18.99)
Our server brought out bread with olive oil and vinegar for the table. We enjoyed that while waiting for our first dish to arrive -- the pizza. It was our first time ordering the pizza and I'm so glad we did because their pizza is so good! It was thin crust, very similar to the New York style that we like!
The spaghetti with meatballs comes with two hefty meatballs and we supplemented this (not that it needed it) by adding the chicken parmigiana that we sliced up. We also added some slices of the chicken to the pizza too and it was a delicious add-on. The three items are more than enough for two people and we had plenty to take home for several at-home meals.
We ended the meal with the colossal brownie sundae, which comes with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream, a lot of brownie pieces, hot fudge sauce, some whipped cream, and sprinkles. We were able to finish it, but this is also fun to eat in a group. Definitely do not skip on this dessert!
Because our parking did not have a time limit, we took a walk to Target, which was a couple blocks away, to work off our food coma before heading home. Successful...
