We stayed at this hotel at the end of May 2025, hoping for a magical trip with our two kids while visiting Disneyland. Instead, our stay turned into a complete nightmare. On the very first night, after returning to the hotel around 11 PM from Disneyland, we walked into our room only to discover it had been broken into. Our personal belongings were rummaged through, and many items were stolen.||The front desk supervisor, Leo, came to our room and moved us to a different room on the first floor — not exactly an "upgrade" as she put it when you have young children to resettle in the middle of the night. We were up until 3 AM trying to calm our kids and deal with the situation. Instead of enjoying our planned trip to California Adventure the next day, we had to go to Target to replace stolen essentials, which disrupted our entire vacation.||We reported the break-in to Garden Grove Police, who informed us that burglaries in the area are a known issue. However, the hotel completely denied this. The front desk manager, Jay, reviewed the key card records with us but implied that there was no proof anything happened, essentially casting doubt on our report.||Shortly after, Anaheim Police arrested two individuals who were found with our stolen belongings in their possession. Despite this, the hotel continued to be dismissive and unhelpful. They offered us a mere one-night credit, free parking, and an "upgrade" to a wheelchair-accessible room (which was not an upgrade for our family’s needs) — a completely inadequate response given that approximately $1,200 worth of our personal items were stolen. We stayed for a full week afterward, and the hotel never prioritized resolving the matter.||Communication was abysmal. We were constantly told that someone from corporate would contact us — but this never happened. Upon checkout, we were told a supervisor would follow up via email — again, nothing. I had to reach out multiple times just to get the general manager’s contact information. When I finally spoke with Benny Lara, he was dismissive, defensive, and made it clear he had not even read the reports despite being aware of the incident. He promised to follow up within 48 hours but never did.||Finally, over a week later, a corporate employee, Sam Logan (Island Hospitality Management), reached out via email saying they take these reports seriously and would be in contact. As of today — more than 20 days after that email — I still have not heard back from anyone. Considering there is an active case involving the perpetrators and the hotel has the case number and have been in contact with the police, who can confirm this situation, they have not accepted responsibility or maintained contact with us. ||This entire experience was traumatic for our family. Our children were frightened, our privacy was violated, and we felt completely unsafe throughout our stay. The hotel's lack of accountability, empathy, or urgency in addressing the situation was appalling. I am writing this review so that other travelers are fully aware of the risks involved in staying here, especially families with children. Be cautious when booking with Marriott. I submitted an honest review after a disappointing experience, and Marriott has chosen not to post it. It appears they screen reviews, limiting transparency for future guests. What should have been a memorable family vacation was overshadowed by stress, fear, and the hotel’s unacceptable handling of a serious criminal incident on...
Read moreI'm a Titanium member and I have mixed feelings about my recent stay here. It's great that in the age of COVID they have their pools open and have a hot breakfast for guests to take to their room. Many of the other things that you would expect to work in the age of COVID weren't available. Just about every hand sanitizer and soap dispenser in the place were empty. I also felt like COVID was maybe being used as an excuse for some lack of maintenance and service. In our first room the air conditioner stopped working after our first night. We switched rooms and the air conditioner was running, but not blowing any air. Maintenance showed up and within a few minutes diagnosed the problem. He left and came back in a few minutes with a new air filter. The air filter he pulled out was black with who knows what and probably had 1/4-1/2 inch of dust on it. He explained that the reduced airflow probably caused the unit to freeze because he also found water in the air conditioning unit. He blamed COVID for the filter not being replaced, turned the system on, and it worked great. The new room didn't have any hand towels, washcloths, or a hair dryer. I called a couple of times to see if we could get some and the only thing that showed up were some bath towels. On one of my calls they explained they had run out, they were in the laundry, and they'd send some later. They never showed up. Later we found some in the pool towel area (they were out of pool towels I think) and we took a few with us to our room. One of the sinks in one of the bathrooms started out draining slow and the morning we were checking out it stopped draining completely. It wasn't all bad. Other than our air conditioning issues everything in our two rooms worked. We had a two bedroom unit and it was a great setup to stay with family. There were three TVs so no one has to fight over watching what they want. The kitchen area is nice. Our first unit was an accessible room and if you don't need it I would choose a regular room because the accessible room didn’t have a paper towel dispenser or a garbage disposal. Our first trip out to the pool we thought there were pool towels in the cabinets and it was only after we go in we realized there weren't any. A quick call to the front desk and Melissa ran us a bunch out. So would I stay here again? If I couldn't find another place with similar accommodations with an open pool, I'd consider it. I'd just make sure the air conditioning is working and...
Read moreYou'll be greeted by smiling, friendly staff who are attentive to your needs and questions. The updated lobby will also greet you with fresh, hot coffee and/or cool lemon water. Beyond that, it starts to go downhill.
Elevators (when working) are slllooooow, considering they are only servicing eight floors and there are (supposed to be) two of them. One of the elevators was closed during our stay and staff opened up the service elevator for use about half-way through our stay. This accommodation didn't improve the speed of said elevators.
While we chose this hotel for their choice of having a two bedroom suite, we would be amiss to say the suites are spacious. They are not. We made it work for our party of three small kiddos and three adults, however.
In the room, we found a kitchen with updated appliances and fixtures, however the "updated-ness" stopped there. The room was pretty worn and in need of several cosmetic updates. I don't recommend anyone sleep on the sofa bed. Sofa beds, in general, aren't known to be the epitome of comfort, but this one was a bit worse on the sofa bed comfort scale. There were springs coming through its "mattress!" Additionally, many walls had paint swatches on them and were worn down and old - as were the carpets and bathroom flooring. Some of our sheets were stained and while we requested new ones, they never arrived. We used towels and top sheets in place of the stained sheets.
Beware that there is only one small trash bin under the kitchen sink. If you have a larger family, you may be taking trips to the dumpster to dump your trash cans (the small one under the kitchen sink and the two tiny ones from the bathrooms).
For down times, the pool area was great. Well maintained, but the towel stock always seemed low. Don't plan on a ton of TV time in your room - there aren't many channels to choose from and the Netflix, Hulu options require you to have an account (we do, so thankfully, our kids got to watch a few of their shows during their down times).
Overall, the suite was functional, but old and worn. They definitely need to replace those sofa beds as well as the beds on the bunks. Rooms could use new carpet and paint throughout. Parking was a nightmare and extremely limited at night. I'd recommend parking and never moving your car for risk of having to park well off site and at an additional charge ($20 more/day). Eeks. $15/day is a lot to charge when you can't guarantee spots on your...
