I was stunned at the slow service, general lack of empathy, and average tasting coffee.
Firstly, this is a horribly designed location. There's only one entry/exit, limiting how you can approach the cafe efficiently -- basically, you can only enter while driving south on Euclid Street.
Secondly, it's a drive-thru location. There's no indoor cafe, though there is a walk-up window. There was a long line at the drive-thru, so I decided to park and walk up. That was my first mistake. Even though there were only two people in line ahead of me, it took at least 20 minutes to get my two drinks. TWENTY minutes. (Could have been longer, but I didn't keep track of time right when I arrived.) I've never waiting that long at any cafe -- even the fancy handcrafted hipster cafes -- let alone a "fast-coffee" franchise like Starbucks. I watched as about 12 cars drove up, got their coffees, and drive off ... while I stood there waiting and waiting. It took 15 minutes for my first drink, a good old iced caramel macchiato, to come out. No special order or modifications. Why it took 15 minutes, I don't know. The woman ahead of me had ordered a coffee and a grande water. But after getting her coffee then waiting 5 minutes for the water, she left without it.
Thirdly, the barista didn't seem to care too much when, at the 19-minute mark, I asked where my second drink was. He just looked around, and then eventually found and grabbed my strawberry Frappuccino and handed it to me. Apparently, it was made and no one ever announced that it was done. No apology or empathy. Clearly, more training or a better system needs to be in place.
And the kicker is that the iced caramel macchiato was rather bland tasting. Like they only put in one shot of espresso. A huge nail in the coffin for me, leaving not a bitter taste but rather a bland taste in my mouth.
I will NOT be returning to this location and will be telling my friends and family...
Read moreThis is the first time I go to this location. I used drive-thru to order my usual drink, triple espresso in a venti cup with 2 pumps of toffenut and soymilk fill up the rest of the cup($3.15). The worker said if I wanted to fill up the rest of the cup with soymilk then it's a latte. (First time I heard this). I confirmed once again all the ingredients of my drink. So my order turned out to be a latte as the worker said. And I also ordered a grande green tea. She said the total is $6 something but I didn't see the details of my order on the screen. When I arrived a the pick up window, the worker didn't get the 2nd order and my drink turned out to be $6. My usual drink is only $3.15 and now since it's a latte (same ingredients but a little more soymilk) and my drink costs double. Unbelievable! She should have mentioned the price difference between the 2 drinks and confirmed all my drinks first before submitting the order. I never had this problem before at other locations. They've never mentioned my usual drink as being a latte. Weird...
Read moreLiterally I was the only person in the Drive-Thru and I said at the window to pay for at least 5 minutes as the man argued with me back and forth about the type of drink I was requesting and ordering and then once he handed me the drinks there were two of them both hot coffee drinks he didn't put the lids on all the way and both coffees immediately bursted and Spilled and burned me all over my body and then I pulled off and went inside demanding for new drinks and for napkins to clean up all the burning hot coffee all over me and I didn't even get an apology or any kind of acknowledgment for what had just happened they completely pretended like nothing and we're going about their days. And we're stingy about the napkins only gave me probably three napkins to dry myself up for two then two size hot coffee spilled almost halfway each per cup all over myself...
