Tastea — Restaurant in Garden Grove

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tastea Harbor x GG, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for an enjoyable boba adventure.

The menu at Tastea is extensive, offering a wide variety of beverages and flavors to cater to every taste bud. Whether you're a traditionalist who enjoys classic milk teas or an adventurous soul seeking unique and innovative creations, there's something for everyone. The staff members were friendly, patient, and eager to help me navigate the menu to find my perfect drink.

One of the highlights of Tastea is their dedication to using high-quality ingredients. Each drink is made with precision and care, ensuring that the flavors are well-balanced and refreshing. The boba pearls, in particular, were cooked to perfection, with a delightful chewy texture that added an extra layer of enjoyment to every sip.

BEWARE: the online delivery on their app is using DOORDASH. We order 45+ dollars amount of food and drinks from this store and the driver drove around and around our neighborhood then claimed it was “delivered.” We attempted To text and call the driver but no communication went through.

We just called the store and the supervisor said they can’t do anything because it’s a doordash driver that they source. We asked if we could drive to the store and get a replacement. They refused this and said that needed to contact doordash. Again. We didn’t buy through doordash we bought their items off their website. We kept making sure they weren’t confused. They still insisted this is now an issue with doordash.

We are beyond livid that this loop hole is present. We bought their items from their app with a Tastea order number.

The tastea app/website should state their driver are not in-house but outsourced from doordash. We bought in Tastea app to AVOID doordash or 3rd party delivery systems. It feels misleading Tastea.

Now we are told to contact doordash and we filed a claim. We don’t know the driver nor do we have a doordash order number.

Update: We placed a trouble ticket with doordash. We emailed Tastea. And finally doordash communicated to Tastea and we received our money back. I’m actually impressed doordash did this within hours of trouble ticket.

I’ve visited here a few times bc 1) this is the closest location to me and 2) they send me coupons or special deals via their rewards app.

Parking: They’re located in a small corner with a small parking lot. Usually when I visit, finding a spot is easy bc people are always coming in n out.

Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with limited indoor seating. It’s very similar to any other Tastea locations. I think they’re located in a dead spot bc I could never get signal inside.

Service: You can place your order with a worker or place your order via the tablet. Throughput can take a while since they’re low staff.

Drinks & food: Their drinks are pretty consistent. Their milk teas taste as usual. Occasionally I get their Vietnamese coffee. Their Viet coffee is sweeter than most, but you can adjust to your liking. This was my first time trying their Chicken Jujutsu Bowl. It’s basically popcorn chicken with rice, corn, & basil. It was actually really good; the chicken was coated & seasoned well.
