Google brought me to the back entrance... Visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon with a group of nine, including three kids under 8. Waited inside the front door for about five minutes without being greeted or seated until someone in the group finally stopped a server and said we had nine and pointed to a large empty table that would fit us. We sat there and the server took our drink orders and then came back shortly with the drinks. We ordered food and waited about 70 minutes to get our food. When it came out, the person bringing it just announced "biscuit" and we explained that one person had a biscuit with their mealand someone else ordered ot as a side. She said she didn't take the orders so she doesn't know who it belongs to. It was a very chaotic way to bring out food, especially after we waited for so long.
The vibe and decorations of the place are great and the food is excellent but the communication of the staff is lacking. We asked for boxes and never received them. Another large group came in, which clearly had a local republican politician and we felt like they catered to that table and just ignored us.
Near the end (while still waiting for boxes), someone came by and asked for donations for their raffle. While we appreciated the cause, it didn't seem the appropriate time or place to ask. I recommend they bring up the cause when guests first arrive and instead of asking for money, just say that at any time you can accept donations. It would allow more time to contemplate and less pressure for the customer.
Overall, I would not return or recommend based on the very long wait time and the way the...
Read moreVisited this location around 10:30 on Friday. Waitress noted us waiting to be seated but was rather snappy when she asked for my name. I noticed she was considerably nicer when explaining to a regular that they’d just had a huge rush. I’ve worked in this type of setting and understand well how stressful this can be on the staff so I try to be understanding and patient. When I got seated our waitress was brusk, shoved some forks and napkins at me, took my drink order, and when she came back literally tossed a handful of sugars and creamers toward me on the table. The food was excellent, as I had experienced before, but while I was eating, another waitress came around soliciting for a raffle supposedly to raise money to feed people who can’t afford a meal. I’ve donated before because it seems like a great cause but it really was off putting to be hassled to buy tickets while trying to eat, after waiting for 45 minutes. I bought two (only because I was already familiar with their promotion) and was a little shocked when she took my money and turned away with no thank you or acknowledgment, not even eye contact. She seemed more interested in chatting with the woman next to us who appeared to be another regular. The cashier was personable and did say thank you however rest of the experience felt like being treated as a nuisance rather than a customer and makes me think twice about returning. Food was great but the service left a bad taste that even the meal couldn’t make up...
Read moreI had never been to Traverse City before. I had to go for something and the car I was driving had no CD player (so I thought I will have to suffer for hours listening to the horrible music of today) but I found a good station called 103.9 and on this station that played a lot of 80s and early 90s music was an Ad for this place. So thanks to that Ad on the radio, I googled my way here.
The 1st time I went I got a cheeseburger deluxe with extra tomatoes and extra onions with fries and a pop. It was all so good and hot. I heard the couple at the table next to me talking about the carrot cake on the counter and they'll pass on it because it's too oily. Well I didn't pass on it! I got a big slice to go! I ate it later when I got to Cadillac because the Shell station there has REALLY cold pop, so I wanted that with my carrot cake. And this carrot cake was DELICIOUS!! Not oily at all!
The 2nd time I came to this area, I went again, I got 6 halves/slices of cinnamon French toast (so delicious), then I got a blueberry pancake and house made pancake. I loved that blueberry pancake, it was SO SO good with lots of blueberries inside the pancake! Even though I was full, I then had to try their eggs, sausage, bacon and toast. ALL were delicious. I had the bacon made just like I like like it -- soft and floppy, I hate crispy bacon. EVERYTHING here was great. I think it's family-owned, so will you please come here and forget the chains.
So glad I heard their...
