This was my first visit to Olmedo's Patio, but it will not be my last.
I've gone over the other 5-star reviews given to the restaurant, and I realized that everything that needed to be said about the place, has been said already. Honestly, I stand by every superlative that was given to Olmedo's, and then some. So I'll talk about the rest of it.
When you enter, you are greeted by a clean and open space, where quiet conversations are held, and a feeling of appreciation for you (me) the customer, for having shown up and asked for a meal. I ordered the vegetable burrito, and after some pleasant and very accommodating conversation, we added some hash browns and ham to it (on the inside, of course... it's a burrito) -- also some sourdough toast, buttered, and a glass of orange juice. The result was delicate, tasteful, and simply very pleasant to eat. I could go on about how it was not oily nor "heavy", not rich (except for the taste) and quite satisfying.
I was very happy to meet Adriana (the owner) who exudes competence, determination, and a welcoming spirit to one and all, even as she works to bus tables, bring out a meal on a tray, and does coffee runs for the customers. And she finds time to talk to people (me in this case) - I don't know how.
There's lots of good food, good will, hard work, and tasty results. Lots...
Read moreFantastic local restaurant addition! Olmedo’s is newer to neighborhood and I finally got a chance to try it this week. The location is really cute and the vibe feels contemporary without being stuffy or out of place. I wish there was a bit more of a view but you can still catch a glimpse of the bay. We ordered the fish n chips, BLT, classic bacon burger and mushroom Swiss bacon burger with upgrades on the sides to cup of soup and sweet potato fries.
I thought the side upgrades were a little steep at $3.75 for sweet potato fries? It’s still just a potato. I also thought it was strange that the classic burger came with bacon. My preference would be a less expensive burger with options for upgrades.
Aside from that, the food tasted good and ingredients were great quality and super fresh. The menu had something for everyone, even picky eaters. Overall, I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to people looking for...
Read moreWe decided to go to dinner with our friends who only live here for the summer. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was friendly and courteous. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. When my order came to me I thought they made a mistake because they served it with aujus so I took of the top bun and looked at the ingredients. It looked like a French dip with sliced roast beef that was dry and not much of it. it had long strips of green pepper and onions and 1 slice of cheese. A Philly cheese steak sandwich should have the ingredients chopped up and smothered with cheese. The French fries were great. All in all the food was mediocre at best. The service was pretty good but the prices were way out of line for the size of the portions. I don't think I will...
