How can this place be rated 4.0 as of 11/17/2015? It is mediocre Southern food to be eaten because you don't have time to cook it at home or too lazy. I am single and always go on most Tuesday's for the Salmon Patty and always get carryout. The carryout line was backed up and no one was in the service line, so I decided just to walk thru and look at the food instead of ordering from the menu and a long wait as there was 8 people ahead of me in the carryout section. So, the servers on the line have NO customers for dine in. Really a mistake on my part because i rarely order dessert but saw the peach cobbler and couldn't resist. Told the server I wanted a peach cobbler to go, she had the carryout bowls right there and served me a bowl of peach cobbler that i would not have otherwise ordered. Score for the management. When I walked to the meat section, and asked the server for a carryout plate I was told that carryouts have to be ordered at the carryout counter. FOR REAL!! You have nobody in line and instead of putting it on a plate, you put it in a styrofoam container. I was outraged and slung my peach cobbler in a TO GO BOWL at the server. Unfortunately the Jackson's have passed away, and the current management is totally incompetent. I worked for their competitor when I was in high school, Hannah's cafeteria, served on the meat line and it was frequent that people would walk thru the service line to get a carryout plate since they could actually see the food instead of looking at a menu, even if they had to wait in a longer line. The last time I was there I had to wait for the carryout server to finish her conversation with the previous customer, while important for customer satisfaction, there are other people available to take my order, and have noticed for awhile the availability of the empty service line. The food is mediocre southern at best, prepared like a buffet, but you only get one visit to. Adios,...
Read moreLet me tell you, one single person can make or break an entire experience. We waited for about an hour in line before we even got to the food counter, which was understandable because it's Mother's Day, not a huge deal. We get up to the line, ready to eat and my husband asks me to grab him a piece of pie but he wants the second one because It's bigger so I grabbed it after seeing SEVERAL other people do the same thing. The woman looks at me says woth a horrible attitude "you're not allowed to do that" and rolls her eyes. It's been a while since I've been there before today so I had no idea that was a rule. I apologized and tried to give it back to her and she yelled at me "well take it now, I can't put it back now!" So I took the pie and kept going. Well then, while I'm still standing there she started pointing at me and talking about me to another employee. When I told her I was still standing there and I could hear her she yelled at me again: "okay? I wasn't talking about you anyway." All the while, the manager was standing right there watching her and didn't say a single word. So at that point there was no reason for me to ask for a manager because he watched the whole thing happen and did nothing. She was leaving as we're and stared me down in the parking lot, shook her head and rolled her eyes. I am furious with the service I received. But what can I do when the manager doesn't see a problem with it at all? I probably will not return to Jackson's ever if the employees can treat the customers however they want and get...
Read morePlease read update at the bottom! Great fast service and they always get my order right! I have been going to this restaurant my entire life and it's always excellent.
UPDATE: I always order to go and the last 2 times I've visited I got the turkey and dressing and both times I didn't get any gravy on my turkey even tho I asked for it when ordering also my Mac and cheese was cold and the 1/2 gallon of tea I got was HOT! the male manager replaced my order and was very nice the first time but this time the female manager wasn't very friendly and not apologetic at all! Also I explained to her that I was recovering from a huge emergency surgery so I asked her to have my replacement meal at the register because walking was so painful which she did NOT do so by the time I was finished with my second trip I was in so much pain I could only eat a couple bits and I was throwing up so it was a total waste of $16.66 along with time energy and gas also the new plate has a lot less turkey and dressing than usual! I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed...I'm not sure I will ever visit this...
