Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Gastonia

Lets start from the top. My wife and I, our son and my cousin and his girlfriend waited 15 minutes for our waitress to come ask us if we wanted anything to drink. While we were waiting, another group came in and sat down. She came to them, took their drink order, gave them their drinks, took their order of what they wanted to eat, and even managed to serve them their food before we even got our drinks. By this time, I was pissed. I had to flag her down and asked her about our drinks. She apologized and took our order. When she returned with our drinks a few minutes later, she asked if we were ready to order for food. I ordered for my son, and my wife. She seemed to be in a hurry, completely uninterested in what we were ordering. I had to tell her that I wanted to order something too, or else she would had just left. This waitress had to be on some sort of drugs, or perhaps overworked? Maybe she lacked the drugs she needed to have basic social skills? Whatever the case, we managed to get our food, oh, except for my wife and my son. You see, we ordered plain sliders, no cheese, and of course she gives us a plate of sliders with cheese. After I told her that we ordered no cheese, she apologized and told us we can just remove the cheese from the burger. By this time I'm already thinking about how I can't wait to do a review for this place when I get home. I was almost finished eating when I realized my wife hasn't had her food yet. She's not the type to complain, and I was busy feeding my face to realize it right off the bat. Anyhow, I asked the lady about my wife's salad, and if it was on back order? She replied with how sorry she was, and how when she asked us a while back if everything was good we should have told her.. At this point, everything almost seemed comical. Her apologizes weren't even remotely genuine. It took all of 20 seconds for her to bring the salad to my wife after we requested her to you know, give it to us. She said the salad was free. but whatever, the damage was done. All in all, the food was actually good which is why I didn't mind giving them two stars. NOT practicing safety at all when you pull up they are saying on signs on the way to the window how they are practicing safety for covid but when you get to the window it is a totally different story no one is practicing anything on the inside!!!!! Ok here we go again: I gave this place a second chance due to my husband asking me to do so........... when I tell you this place needs to be closed down & cleaned completely!!! YES SHUT IT DOWN, like CLOSE THE DOORS & LOCK IT SO IT CAN BE CLEAN WITH BLEACH EVERYWHERE. OR GUT IT & START FROM THE BOTTOM!!**The bathrooms are literally disgusting. Let’s be honest if your not home no one really sits on toilets without some kind of covering paper to put on them. The women’s bathroom was so terrible I nor my 6 year old wanted to even squat over it because it was splashed/splattered with feces, tissue paper on the floor that looked like someone literally wiped their bottom with it and dropped it on the floor & it looks like the floors in the bathroom as well as all over the whole restaurant has not been mopped in a few years, it even had that sticky feeling when you walked on it. As soon as we walked in I felt uncomfortable, I didn’t even finish my food. The food is cheap which is ok but why is it so dirty?! The place is completely dirty I can’t stress this enough ....
