I had very high hopes for this establishment and unfortunately wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. I'll go from start to finish. Upon entering the restaurant we were not greeted. Not a "hi", "welcome", "will be right with you" nothing at all. We waited close to 10 minutes to get seated. Myself and two kids. We would have left but it was pouring!! Once seated we were given our menus. There isn't a kids menu. So yes, I paid adult meal prices for kids who you know aren't about to eat an adult portion. That was very disappointing. I ordered a country burrito. Eggs, bacon, potatoes in a flour tortilla smothered with sausage gravy. I wasn't to tell it it was amazing. But I have no idea. They were out of gravy. That's cool. Smoother it in green chili. We all know that sounds great. You know what I ordered. What I got was scrambled eggs , chili and cheese in a tortilla smothered with the green chili. No bacon. No potatoes. Very disappointing. As far as atmosphere. There's nothing worth noting really. A bit outdated. I think my next trip to Georgetown needs to include a different meal location. Go now. Eat good food. Be kind. And, enjoy.

First time eating at the Happy Cooker today. My friends and I ordered the breakfast burrito, listed as “local favorite”, with pork green chile. Probably one of the worst breakfast burritos I’ve ever had. We should have read the menu more carefully but how does a tortilla with egg, cheese, sour cream, and pork green chile qualify as a “burrito.” You’d expect it might be filled with some breakfast meat, potatoes, or something along those lines. Again, our fault for not completely reading the details on the menu, but I think if you ask anyone else they would agree. The burrito was very soggy as well and the eggs did not seem fresh at all. The eggs had to of been precooked and refrigerated or they were dehydrated eggs. Needless to say we did not finish our burritos. Service was not the best either but the restaurant didn’t seem fully staffed so I’m not complaining too much in regards to that. Hesitant to give Happy Cooker another chance to redeem themselves as we waited 40 minutes to be seated and waited an additional 20 minutes for subpar food.

If you want to be treated differently because of your skin color and be accused of getting a free meal when you share your complaints with the manager, you can go this place. Although these thoughts were shared with the manager to understand and solve the situation, we realized that we were right when the manager blamed us instead of denying the situation. First of all, no customer has to close the door of your restaurant and no one has to be subjected to bad looks and terrible treatment by your employees. No matter how old a business you are, you haven't learned anything about customer satisfaction. Although we did not eat the food we ordered, we were treated worse than talking by the dear experienced manager. It was an absolutely terrible experience and we were exposed to completely unacceptable approaches. I don't think so, but I hope you can learn professionalism one day and apply it in your business.

DO NOT COME HERE - SLOWEST SERVICE EVER AND FLAVORLESS - We came to Georgetown to spend a family day, and as we were walking we stumbled upon this restaurant. It was full, and my cell service wasn't working so I couldn't check reviews how I usually do. We figured it would be a nice play to try, so we were seated and started looking at the menu. It was pretty simple, a lot of sandwiches, soups, sorta thing so we all went ahead and ordered. We got two healthy chicken pitas, the french dip and the meatloaf mountain. As we were waiting, for what had already been about 40 minutes, the table next to us stopped the waitress and turns out they had been waiting for an hour already. No sandwich in my life has ever taken that long to make unless I'm making the bread from scratch. They got their food like 15 minutes later or so. We were still waiting. By that time, it had already been about an hour for us too. We were STARVING. We hadn't gotten refills or anything. I had stopped the lady that was cleaning the tables since our waitress wasn't even coming to our table to check how much longer. She went ahead and asked her, and they came eventually saying the food was ready they were just waiting for the meatloaf. They didn't have any more mashed potatoes for the meatloaf dish, so they wanted to sub home fries. Cool, we can work with that. The food eventually came out, and we started to dig in. The pitas were flavorless, the chicken literally had ZERO flavor. Worst chicken I've ever tasted. I felt bad because they asked another table next to us if their food was good and they said it was great. The salad that came with the pita was old, it wasn't fresh. My french dip was decent, the bread was a little dry. But that meatloaf mountain...it was burnt and dry...so dry it hurt. The soups that we got, they were decent, but not hot, just kind of warm. We hadn't gotten refills yet, so we had to ask again. The waitress came and took our plates and then brought our check. I was furious that they wasted so much of our time when all we wanted was a simple sandwich. Never again. Not sure how this place has good reviews. Worst place in Georgetown. I told them about the meatloaf and they had to ask the manager to take it off the bill. I was NOT going to pay for burnt meatloaf. We didn't even finish our plates after starving. It tasted decent probably because we were sooo hungry. We were walking around and later were talking with a local at a shop and I was telling them about our story here, they said "yep we hear that a lot" That should tell you how...

I want to preface this review by saying the server was fantastic and that the food was very decent. The 1-star rating comes as a result of the front-of-house management and lack of flexibilty we recieved for seating our group of 8 people. My family was visiting Georgetown to see my brother's family. I have a wife and two young children; my brother has a wife an two young children. We see eachother once a year if we're lucky. We decided to eat at the Happy Cooker to have breakfast on July 4th 2021, together, as a group. We had made a reservation for the inside dining room, but later decided that we'd like to sit on the patio instead since it was a nice day. We were told that the patio didn't open until 10:30, which is strange because there were a lot of patrons waiting and plenty of available patio seats. Why not open earlier? I want to make it clear that the gentleman in the glasses who was managing the front of house knew we were two parties of four, and that we wanted to sit near eachother. After waiting about 45 mins, 10:30 a.m. arrived, and lo and behold my family and my brother's family were the first two parties to be seated by the gentleman in the glasses. But wait, this is where the experience become illogical. Instead of seating us beside eachother to socialize, laugh, and enjoy eachother's company, we were seated at opposite ends of the patio. When asked "why, why can't we be seated together, we're family..." the gentleman in the glasses muttered something about zoning for servers. Let's keep in mind, there were about 5 other parties waiting to be seated at, let's say, seven total tables on the patio. It was July 4th and a busy morning. Why couldn't the gentleman in the glasses seat our two 4-person families at adjoining tables, seat the remaining 5 parties, and then "zone" the servers' coverage based on table location, not who seated first. All seven parties were seated within 90 seconds, so why not allow parties that would like to sit beside eachother do so? The lack of understanding and flexibilty was truly infuriating. This could have easily been avoided, but unfortunately the gentleman in the glasses would not, or could not, budge. We really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but unfortunately the gentleman in the glasses spoiled the experience for the...

I have wanted to go to Georgetown, CO for years. So, when I heard the Christmas Market was going on I asked two of my aunts to go and off we went. We decided to eat in Georgetown to get the whole experience. After all, we love trying new things and especially the local food places. We saw the Happy Cooker and thought it would be a great place to try. My aunts ordered from the lunch menu and I ordered breakfast. They were happy with their choices. I however, was not so lucky. I ordered the cook's breakfast which had eggs, choice of meat and waffles or french toast. I got the waffles and chose sausage. It took a long time for our server to bring the dr. pepper's my aunt ordered we figured it was just because it was busy. So we didn't read too much into that at the time. Our food came out (it did take awhile; again maybe the busyness) there was bacon instead of sausage. So I asked for a side of sausage. The server said, "oh you did say sausage huh, sorry." (not very sorry from the tone and lack of attention we received our whole time there) I got my sausage and the ends were hot and the middle was cold. Not sure what happened. My eggs were still raw in some spots but the waffles were amazing! nice and flaky outside and warm and soft in the middle. The perfect waffle. I ended up using all my cash to pay for the check because of how long we were waiting to pay for our meal. All in all, I would say try a time were it is probably less busy or order from the lunch menu so you can have a better experience and have your food cooked to your liking. I will say the host was inviting and very friendly so was the young gentleman who was sitting up front by the door when we left. They deserve 5 stars. My husband and I plan on going to Georgetown in the next couple weeks. Not sure if I would try this place again but it sounds like a hit or miss by...
