This is a nice place with great decor and atmosphere. We'd eaten here before and remembered the food was good though overpriced for portion size. It's a small mountain town, not surprising. Having said that, we had dinner there twice this past weekend. Our first visit was fabulous. Our server Nikky was absolutely delightful and very attentive. We ordered the CHICKEN PICCATA. So delicious!! One of the best we'd ever had. The following night we went back cuz we loved the Piccata that much. We had headed to the restaurant a bit later. We tried to call to place an order to go several times, no one answered. We decided to go anyway, arriving around 730p. (they close at 8p). We stood at the door for several minutes while the owner and the cranky server ignored us. (The other server, a bit older was cranky on both occasions). Not even a smile. We ended up walking up to the bar to try to order takeout, knowing they were closing soon. Owner asked what we needed, we asked if we could order takeout. He replied, "umm kitchen is closing but let me ask the cook". He came back saying if it was something simple, the cook would make it. Not really caring either way. So Piccata was out of the question since sauce made fresh to order. OK, how about some burgers?? Back to the kitchen to ask the cook. Hesitantly ok. Oh and you can sit down and eat here. At this point, we just wanted to go. Then Miss cranky came over to ask about our order. We explained we'd already ordered. She insisted on having us repeat the order. Still no smile, not helpful natured. Apparently she was expecting a good tip?? Anyway... this is just my personal opinion after over 40 yrs in customer service. One, don't say restaurant is open til 8p if your kitchen closes at 730p (holiday weekend no less). Two, when someone enters your establishment, a greeting or acknowledgement might help. Three, don't open on holiday if you don't want to be there. And finally, you could have just said, Sorry kitchen closed early. All the other drama could have been avoided. For a small town that's often overlooked and dead in winter, you should have appreciated repeat business. Your choice if you want to try this place. I'm not sure I will be back. I'm local not a once a year, one summer, one time visitor. Too bad so many small towns here forget about...
Read moreYum and fun! 511 opened on 5/11 of this year ('21) and it is a fabulous addition to Georgetown.
The menu has a unique variety of items, we've had several options and enjoyed them all: Hanger Steak, Quinoa Blend, Salmon appetizer, Macaroni and Cheese (a must try,) Truffles, French Fries, and Brisket Sandwich. Again, all delicious and presented nicely.
The wine is also a delight, I stuck with the cab. My husband tried, several times, the 511 Mule. It, to, was a tantalizing treat to our taste buds.
Our taste buds were not the only sense that was catered to or delighted at the 511. The renovations that were done prior to opening the 511 are a visual playground and all of the rustic decor can be yours to take home - for a price of course, and we watched some of it depart during one of our visits.
So, our taste buds and our visual senses were quite busy during our visits, but that was not the last of our senses to be pleased. They have a delightful musician, Rod Solomon, that performs high up on an indoor balcony. That balcony was designed just for him to entertain us while we enjoy our time at the 511. Yes, he does take requests and yes, he is very good, very entertaining.
Finally, the service is also very good. Very friendly and accommodating. Go enjoy yourselves and all that the 511 has to offer, I know that we will again and again. Sunday brunch is next...

We visited 511 Rose in downtown Georgetown, and it was a great experience! The location is perfect, and the restaurant has a cozy, intimate feel with just a few tables. There’s also a loft for live music, which I wish I had experienced—I imagine it adds a great touch to the ambiance!
The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Piccata with Salmon instead of Chicken, and while it was flavorful, the seasoning leaned on the salty side—which I personally love, but it might be too much for some. The pasta portion was quite small, which worked for me since I have a smaller appetite, but others might need a bit more to feel satisfied. My boyfriend had the Bistro Burger, and he was happy with it—it was cooked just as he requested and overall a solid burger.
One thing that disappointed me was the lack of dessert. There was nothing listed on the menu, and we weren’t offered any options, which was a bummer since I was really craving something sweet! I’m not sure if they simply don’t serve desserts or if it was an oversight.
Overall, I definitely recommend 511 Rose for a great meal in a lovely setting. I’d love to return—hopefully on a night with live music—and try more of...
