What a gem of a restaurant! Juniper is a phenomenal addition to GTX. The tapas are delicious, creative, and expertly crafted with the freshest ingredients. I love the variety of flavors and how well they pair together. The focaccia is one of the best I’ve ever had (focaccia is my favorite bread)! Thick and perfectly baked, and their chili butter elevates it even more. They use the focaccia and brioche in the bread pudding, and that was absolutely the best bread pudding I’ve had! The arancini is also amazing. Super delicious flavors and perfect textures, especially paired with the citrusy béarnaise. The cocktails are carefully curated and the bar has an impressive selection of alcohol. Old Fashioned is my favorite drink, and I really enjoyed their spin on the Queens Park using two bitters to make it taste like a rum Old Fashioned. Deep and delicious flavors! The owners are delightful and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly. The floor to ceiling windows let in lovely natural light and the beautiful decor focuses on forest greens and natural colors. Every piece of furniture is intentionally selected and placed, making Juniper feel like a luxury restaurant meant for Austin, yet offering affordable prices for our wonderful community. I highly recommend Juniper as a place to meet for high-quality drinks and tapas!
Update: I came back for dinner tonight, and the pork belly on fried polenta is deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked! That’s a new favorite of mine. I also tried their scotch cocktail Chocolate Covered Cherry and...
Read moreLet me start by saying my husband and I were really excited to come try this new restaurant and had been looking forward to it for weeks. The best thing about this restaurant is the decor. It took the kitchen 45 minutes for 4 tiny plates that came out at different times and the last was 20 minutes behind the others. When our drinks finally were brought out, by then we were convinced they weren’t coming, we were shocked to see how little they serve for $14 a piece. They tasted good but I couldn’t say for-sure as it was more just a sample. When we complained to the manager about how little the drinks were she basically told us we just don’t understand about European food and drinks and asked if this was our first time trying it. We then just asked for the bill… we were shocked. Again we spoke to the manager, well we tried. She told us she was very busy and again tried to educate us on European cuisine and essentially blamed us. We heard such good things and left wondering if maybe we went to wrong place. Since we left hungry we then went to a better place on the square that was far superior I later found out some of our friends had a similar experience. Needless to say, we don’t think we will be returning to Juniper with out some...
Read moreThis place is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and the kind of service that makes you feel like family.
The food is absolutely incredible—fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic. You can taste the quality in every bite. The carne asada is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, while their tacos are bursting with flavor and served with fresh toppings that bring everything together. The salsas are made from scratch and pack just the right amount of heat without overpowering the food.
What I really appreciate is the consistency. Every time I come here, the meals are just as delicious as the last visit. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and you can tell they put real pride into their cooking.
Whether you’re craving tacos, enchiladas, burritos, or just a good plate of rice and beans, this spot never disappoints. It’s the perfect place for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or even grabbing takeout when you want something comforting and flavorful.
If you’re in the area and looking for authentic Mexican food that truly hits the spot, this is the place to go. Highly recommend—it’s become my go-to...
