We really wanted to enjoy our first dining experience with Sweet Lemon Kitchen. I had heard so many great things online and was really looking forward to eating here. I tried to make a reservation for lunch on a Saturday a week in advance and noticed that they only take reservations after 3 pm each day. I thought this was a little odd but hoped for the best. We arrived at 11:30 and were told it would be an hour and a half wait. We walked around a bit and were called back within 15 minutes, which was a nice surprise. The host hadn't asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating. We would have preferred indoor but were sat outdoor. The first thing we were told by our waitress was that they were completely out of cinnamon rolls. Bummer since that's the thing they are known for and what I was looking forward to! I do understand running out, but if it's your most popular item, you should definitely plan for more and then can do more business! 3 people at our table ordered French toast, and it wasn't until after the third person ordered that she also informed us they were out of that. They were also out of most scones. That's a lot of things to be out of by lunchtime on the weekend. I guess it was really busy, we never once had our waters refilled the entire time we were there, so most of us sat without any the whole meal. She didn't come back for long stretches of time and we actually had to go find her to pay since we sat there and were ready to go for 15 minutes after finishing. I think being a little more attentive would really go a long way. Half of our to-go order was missing but the party was ready to leave at this point. This is a really cute place and I hope they can work on making more food portions correct so we all can enjoy what the...
Read moreI went to Sweet lemon kitchen with a family a few years ago. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and didn't like it. I never went back. I also thought the feel was a ladies hang out. Okay, I was wrong. I can say it. I went tonight with my lady and son. We were seated immediately inside. They also have porch and garden area seating under the trees. A band was outside playing some relaxing jazz music. Georgetown is cool. Anyway, a woman from Sud Afrika waited on us. We had a good time talking about where she is from etc. She was also a great server. For our meal, I had an iced tea that tasted like tea. The others had water. We shared a bruschetta. It had nice tomatoes and cheese with basil pest on crust bread, topped with balsamic reduction. Yummy. Next we had side salads and they were healthy sized, with a nice lemon dressing. The salad was crispy and fresh. My lady had the puffed pastry enclosing salmon on veggies. My son and I were really surprised that she ate the entire meal as the salmon portion was large. It was delicious. My son had linguini and meatballs which he scarfed down like any teenage athlete. That meal came with a crusted garlic bread. I had an amazing chicken sandwich, with chipotle sauce and avocados, lettuce, tomatoes and bacon and a side of fruit. I don't really eat pork and I was unaware that it was on the sandwich. I ate it anyway. Very nice sandwich. One of my favorites now in Gt. Overall, really nice experience, service and great food. I should have come back sooner.
updated: went back July 30. Wow. We are really like this restaurant. Pork sandwich, salads, salmon with salsa and...
Read moreWe drove by Sweet Lemon twenty times before visiting. It always looked very busy full of happy people and lots of friendly staff. Well this time we stopped by on Sunday after church! We waited only 20 minutes to be seated.
Wow! It was the magical experience. Let me start with the atmosphere. We ate outside under their giant shade tree in 76° warm mild weather with a breeze. Our table was adjacent to Founders Park which sounds large but is an adorable little park. There is tons of free parking everywhere.
On the way to our table we stopped to visit with a friendly young couple from Turkey and the table behind us was filled with family and friends speaking in a language that sounded like Russian.
Our waitress Sarah was excellent. Fast, accurate and friendly service. The food taste and quality was 5+ stars. My wife prefers GF and she had a ton of options including a super moist lemon Bundt cake! She also really enjoyed her mocha latte. I had quiche lorraine with an Arnold Palmer. It tasted like they make their own fresh lemonade.
Sweet Lemon is a converted two story home. I walked up the steps and took a few pictures from the front porch. As I walked through the door, my first impression was ADORABLE! Cutest little coffee counter you've ever seen. All the rooms in Grandma's houae were transformed into comfortable dining rooms. They aren't too large or too small, just delightfully cozy! I walked up the staircase to the second floor and discovered more dining nooks.
Sweet Lemon Kitchen is a culinary time traveler's secret. I highly recommend...
