Our lovely server today was amazing for my mom’s birthday. But during my dinner with my sister, mom, dad, and grandma , an older lady with a cane who happens to be an hourly employee per manager , had approached my family’s table as we were on our phones , and she says “Oh, everyone is texting on their phones”.
We thought maybe she was just coming to bring light into the moment because she happened to see us on our phones . But even if we were in that moment she walked by us, what is her position in that? We weren’t sure who she was or what her intention were. Actually thought she was a customer like us because she wasn’t dressed in employee clothing. Anyways, my grandma and family laugh nervously because we were just confused by the encounter period . My grandma was trying to say “I don’t text” in an accent but what she was trying to tell that woman that she wasn’t texting like the rest of us were . The lady with the cane says to my grandma “Oh, you don’t speak any English .” My entire family speaks English , as me , my sister and father went to college in the US, but my mom and grandma did not and have an accent. I didn’t appreciate that being said to us during my mom’s birthday dinner as it will be something I will always remember. I was completely disgusted after she said that and just wanted to leave . My family didn’t even want to speak to the manager about it and wanted me to settle down about it . But I refused to walk out of there without letting it be known what was said .
I thank our server for amazing service , it was her birthday today as well and I hope she has an amazing birthday. But I told my parents that I knew that woman wasn’t coming to our table with good intentions .
Will be my absolute last time coming to Bonefish Grill . We come here every year for my mom’s birthday . We spent a little less than $300 including tip. Will never come back after today.
Response to manager : Racism is not and never a “shortcoming” . And I’m sure that old woman with the cane was the owner , not an hourly employee. Wondering how much work you could get done walking with a cane . More like salary employee to me . I refuse to spend money at a restaurant (in the future) where an “hourly employee” is harassing and displaying racism to...
Read moreJames saved the day!! So I orders through DoorDash as I was busy at work the whole day. I had never eaten at Bone Fish but heard so many great things! Not having any family here, I wanted to treat myself. I ordered the Rainbow Trout with coleslaw and green beans. The fish was huge but that was the only positive. It was hard and cold. The coleslaw was runny and salty. I called just to notify them so they would be aware. Kindness gets you a long way. I wasn’t rude, just disappointed and honestly wanted management to know just to provide training to the chef. Things happen and although I knew it was the restaurant’s intentions, I still expected better than what I paid for. After all explaining all this to one person, w the manager James got on the phone and he was very delightful from the start. He had empathy and understood my concerns. We talked it out and he did agree and explained the fish may have been over cooked. He also educated me by saying their Korean-styled cole slaw has more liquid in it and soy sauce based. Then I asked him about the Crab cakes which is what I thought to try at first and if he recommends them. Not only did he highly recommend them, he offered to deliver me some fresh Crab Cakes to my job down the street. I could tell he really cared and I wasn’t too far away. 🥹 I truly miss and appreciate that he went above and beyond to make things right He was so kind to do that. I have him a big hug when I seen him. And he even through in a few delicious cookies for the Holidays. And James, you were right, the crab cakes were BOMB!!!! I can’t wait to come dine in. This proves that when you address situations with kindness and understanding, you attract God’s Blessings and people want to help you. James is a true gem and asset to Bone Fish. My meal was fresh and delicious! I had the crab cakes, garlic mash potatoes, and a salad. So to anyone reading this, GET THE CRAB CAKES! And give James...
Read moreWe have eaten dinner at Bonefish Grill in Snellville, Georgia over the past several years. Each time, the food and service were very good. This time, however, the experience was disappointing.
We reserved a table on Saturday night for 6:15 p.m. Although the bar and tables near the bar were completely filled, we were seated promptly in the large dining room. My wife and I ordered cocktails; I had a Mariquita that was very smooth and tasty. My wife's drink was satisfying as well. We also had a large order of the Bang Bang Shrimp that we had to save about one-half to take home. The waiter served us moist bread with a dip that we devoured.
I ordered one pound of snow crab legs which was one of the specials for August. My wife ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl. I ordered French fries and coleslaw as sides. The sides were the best part of the meal. When the snow crab legs arrived, I noticed the legs were very small. This resulted in little crab meat to pick from. The taste of the crab meat did not remind me of other snow crab legs that I have eaten that were sweet, moist and had lots of meat in the shell. These snow crab legs had little meat and were probably previously frozen. They had little or no flavor. And it was very difficult to eat these snow crab legs as they were small and narrow. I would NOT recommend ordering these snow crab legs. Very disappointing.
My wife's dish was okay. She ate the small pieces of tuna in the bowl. She did not like the jasmine rice at all. She said it tasted old and stale. She wondered why the dish had sliced cucumbers? It did not add anything to the dish.
Our server was friendly and attentive. No criticism of the service although it took a while to be served. Apparently, the restaurant was overbooked for dinner service.
We will have to think twice before we eat dinner at this Bone Fish...
