I’ve been going to this Dunkin’ location for years and never had an issue, until recently. About a week ago, I ordered two drinks. Mine was supposed to be an iced shaken espresso with mocha and almond milk. I noticed on the screen it showed as a brown sugar shaken espresso. I politely corrected the woman taking my order and told her I didn’t want brown sugar, just mocha and almond milk. She said there was no button for a regular shaken espresso and she’d need someone else to fix it.
I finished my order, which included a Boston cream donut. At the window, the receipt showed a $3 coffee roll instead, definitely not the same thing. When I got my drink, it still had brown sugar and was made with regular milk. My sister’s drink was correct( to my knowledge), but they also gave me the wrong donut. I returned both, asked for them to be fixed, and they did remake them. I’m still fairly certain I was overcharged, but I let it go thinking it was a one-off mistake.
Unfortunately, I went back the yesterday morning and had nearly the same exact experience, same woman at the speaker, same drink entered incorrectly. I ordered three drinks this time and said very clearly: an iced shaken espresso with mocha and almond milk, an iced chai with oat milk, and a vanilla cold brew. Once again, my drink was made with brown sugar and regular milk. I told them politely at the window, and said they would remake it. The lady handed me the cold brew and then I was told to pull forward and wait for the rest of my order. After nearly 10 minutes, I received the shaken espresso and asked about the iced chai. The response I got felt rude and unprofessional, which was frustrating since I was the one patiently waiting.
Eventually the chai came out, with a straw already in it, which I’ve never seen before. I’m not accusing anyone of anything, but that gave me a really uneasy feeling. I changed out the straw immediately. On top of all that, the receipt didn’t match what I ordered at all. Items I never asked for were listed (like cold foam and extra swirls), and it showed multiple kinds of milk in a single drink that I never requested.
It’s unclear if the issue is with how the drinks are being entered, poor training, or a lack of understanding of the menu system, but four drinks on two separate visits were made incorrectly and I was charged for things I never ordered. I can’t imagine how many other customers are having the same issue without realizing it.
Sadly, I won’t be returning to this location. The repeated mistakes, incorrect charges, and poor customer service made it clear that they’re not paying attention to accuracy or...
Read moreOkay, so many of the early reviews of this location are accurate. They have been open here for less than a year, and early on I was appalled at the service speed and the lack of customer service. Watching an employee drop a lid to one of the food storage containers on the floor, and then put it back on the food container without washing it, almost drove me away for good. I filled out the online survey and let them know about this. It was beyond deplorable.
HOWEVER,
It appears that the management heard all of the complaints and has taken steps to address them.
Since the early debacle, it appears that the employees are more friendly, more well trained, and take better care of the customers. There are also more of them.
Now my order comes up fast and correct, with a smile, and they now play 50's and 60's early rock and roll music consistently at a comfortable level, which, while not my personal favorite, beats questionable lyrics blasting out at ear shattering decibels.
While more attention could be paid to the floors and the bathrooms, and the wifi can be spotty, I find this to be a good place to sit, have a drink and a hot sandwich or pastry, and plug in my computer to get some things done.
A little more attention to cleanliness, and I could...
Read moreStopped in to buy two 1 lb bags of coffee beans. Sign above coffee beans says 1 lb coffee for $8.99. So I grab two bags and head for the register. Nice lady at the register rings my coffee up for $9.99 each.
I step back from the register and pull my phone out to quickly check the math and sure enough, each 1lb bag of coffee beans rang up at $9.99 each.
Then, someone who I thought was the manager tried to sell me on the fact that there was a special on coffee beans that were three 1lb bags for $2100. When I knew that wasn’t accurate, I kept my two bags of beans, took a picture of the sign (attached) and took out my phone calculator and showed him each bag was charged at the $9.99 price. He then told me that the “manager” will be in tomorrow morning and to keep my receipt and take it up with the “manager” tomorrow.
I understand it’s only “2 bucks”, but I would stay away from this establishment. Either they are displaying inaccurate pricing to grab your extra dollars, engaging in false advertising or flat out refusing to work with their customers to help make things right by telling them to come see the “manager” the following morning?
For something this small, I guess I’ll have to take my...
