I'm editing my review since my third visit today 8/24/24. My wife and I arrived at 11:15am, there were about 8-10 people waiting outside. We went in to check in and they said there would be a 10-15 minute wait, no big deal. I look around and was a little.... puzzled by the fact that there were 4 clean and clear tables that sat 4 each, 2 booths that could seat 6 each, a long high table to the left of the front door that sat 8, and in the back corner a couple of tables along the wall that could easily seat another 6-8 people. So why were we all waiting? At the 15 minutes mark, one of the hosts (who asked us three times what name we were under) said she had a table for us, hey it was one of the four 4-seaters I mentioned earlier. We sit down and proceed to wait another 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledges us. A lady brings us two rolls of silver wear and napkins and says someone will be with you shortly. While all of this is going on there are a bunch of people standing behind the counter lined up doing nothing. One female was staring out into the parking lot like she was waiting for her long lost love to return from the war, the other female was staring RIGHT AT ME! I waved at her and mouthed "Hi" to which she spun around quickly like a shy girl in high school. I look at my wife and said I'm about to leave, when our waitress finally shows up. She takes our order, then disappears. I get my coffee, few minutes later my wife gets her hot mocha, then we get our three croissant doughnuts. Mine tasted like a bowl of Kashi (tasteless), like even the caramel sauce they put on it had very little flavor. We get our meals, my wife ordered the Chicken Club Biscuit that was supposed to have chicken, eggs, bacon, and some pepper jelly. All she got was a crumbly biscuit, fried chicken with breading that had no flavor what so ever, and nothing else. We mention it to the waitress and she takes it back. They threw two small flimsy slices of bacon on the biscuit and a plastic cup with the jelly on the side. The home fries that she ordered with the meal were stone cold. I saw them put the plate in the window where it sat for maybe 30 seconds before it was brought to the table and was under a heat lamp so I don't know how they were so cold when she got them. My food was ok, I ordered the Steak breakfast burrito with no tomatoes. I got half way through the first half piece and found very tiny pieces of tomato like someone put it in there then said oh crap NO tomatoes and scraped them all out, but forgot about checking the other half.
I tried to give this place a chance, I really did. The menu is different enough to give you variety, but if you can't execute and can't train your people not to stand around when the place is busy, you won't...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I have had in many years!! We had a party of 9, so they had to put several tables together to accommodate us. We really needed 4, but they only used 3, so we were a little tight. Menus were given, and drink orders were taken. After the drinks were severed the food order was taken and placed. We had one person in our party show up a little late to order, so our ticket had to be modified. We all chatted and sipped our drinks as is usual with a party that size. We all noticed how fast the take out were being processed, but at the time didn't think too much about it until after over a half hour had passed, our drink cups were empty and we still didn't have our food. We watched our server not try to make eye contact with us. She even walked right by us and didn't check on us as servers usually do. We all caught her the next time she tried that and asked where our order was. She left to check to digital screen only to come back and tell us there were 9 orders ahead of ours. In unison, we all asked "how" for the amount that we had been in there was that even possible and demanded the manager. She spoke to him, and then he went and spoke to the chefs before coming to our table. He gave us some tired line about being one of the owners of the establishment and tried to make excuses as to how the system processes dine in and takeout orders, but that our food would be ready in another 10-15 minutes. We pointed out that their system was clearly flawed and should be revisited. He did nothing that should have been done to ensure that we were accommodated for our wasted time. We told him that we watched smaller parties get their food eat, pay, and leave in all that time and that it was our first and last time we would patronize that diner! Still, instead of apologizing, he just looked dumbfounded, so we lightened his load of not having to prepare those 9 meals...
Read moreThe Food was DELICIOUS!!.. My fiancé had the homestead platter which consisted of 2 eggs (cooked how you want and they did with PERFECTION!) 4 pieces of bacon (pork or turkey), 4 pieces of sausage (link or patty) and a grilled biscuit with a side of sausage gravy. I had a create your own omelet which I chose, all egg white omelet with diced ham, sautéed onions, diced tomatoes and American cheese, with a side of garlic cheddar grits, housemade corned beef hash, and their banana foster French toast( cinnamon french toast, caramelized bananas, caramel sauce and powdered sugar, I also added pralines to it)..Everything was SPOT ON!!.. we ate EVERYTHING and let me just say, my fiancé and I have ALWAYS taken the rest of our food to go that we couldn't finish but this time, for the 1st time, we did not. Wasn't enough to take home because we basically demolished everything. The restaurant was clean and the music was lively and not too loud. Our server, Stephanie, was AMAZING!.. Very kind and courteous and very attentive to us. Made sure we didn't need anything and that our drinks were refreshed. We didn't have to wait and search for our server like we have in MANY restaurants in a 20-mile radius. She's actually 1 of the best severs we've had out of the MANY restaurants we've been to. She would be in our top 3!.. no kidding..all in everything was great, if I have 1 complaint and actually from my fiancé, was that the bacon was a little to soft and kind of cold. I tried it, and it was, but I LOVE bacon, so I was ok with it, but I understood. One would prefer a slightly more crisp and warm bacon. Other than that, GREAT JOB KITCHEN COOKS AND STEPHANIE!!.. You've won...
