Review of Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant – 3999 Austell Road, GA 30106 Date of Visit: June 10, 2025 Total Purchase: $74.00
I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service I received today at Golden Krust located at 3999 Austell Road. As a loyal customer and a member of the Golden Krust rewards program, I was surprised to learn—only after completing my $74 purchase—that my rewards membership was not recognized due to a “new system.”
When I inquired about the rewards discount, which totaled approximately $5, the cashier checked my number and told me that I was not in the system. I explained that I am a member and asked how to rectify this. She informed me that the system had changed but proceeded to complete the transaction without applying any discount.
I remained in the store, downloaded the updated rewards app, and returned to the cashier within minutes to request the discount be applied retroactively. She stated she could not do so because the payment had already been processed. I asked if she could cancel the transaction and reprocess it with the rewards discount, but she refused.
I then requested a full refund, since I had not yet left the store and the items had not been consumed. This request was also denied. The cashier showed no willingness to assist and instead remarked, “I know you for all these years and did not know you were like that.” I responded that I did not expect such poor customer service from her.
I requested the owner's contact information and was only given a first name. When I asked for the last name, the cashier claimed not to know it.
This experience reflects a lack of training in basic customer service, failure to honor rewards program commitments, and refusal to accommodate a reasonable request—all of which are unacceptable from an established franchise. I hope the ownership takes this seriously and trains their staff to handle such matters more...

Today, I went and ordered a large brown stew chicken meal w/extra Gravy on my rice and Peas, cabbage, & plantains. I took 2 bites of my cabbage, the cabbage was EXCELLENT. Well seasoned, with the right amount of spice. I took one bite of my chicken, which it was hard and dry. So I tried a different piece. It was still dry. I took the meal back asking for something else because I couldn't eat the chicken. I explained how I understand these things can happen since the food is in a steam table & can get dry if it sits too long. At first, they didn't want to replace my meal. Then, they only wanted to give me a cup of curry chicken to replace the brown stew chicken. I explained that I would like another meal since the brown stew Gravy was all over my rice & it wouldn't taste right by adding curry chicken. So she agrees, then proceeds to fix me a small meal. I ordered and paid for a large meal. She said since I had already eaten a few bites that she'd give me a small. I told her that I didn't pay $20 to receive a small meal. I explained how I wasn't there to cause issues or to get my money back, I just wanted what I paid for. So I left with no food and went next door get food. What's crazy, is , all they had to do is give me what I paid for. Since they refused to, they've lost a whole family of customers. Read moreThe place is very clean and big for a Golden Krust. I was extremely happy when they first opened to know that there’s a Golden Krust around the area. The food is delicious. Ever since they opened I met this (Guyanese) Indian girl I forget her name but every time I walked into Golden Krust and she’s there the environment is so amazing and she doesn’t just serve you she asked you how you’re doing and she have a conversation with you. If you don’t know what you want, she will help you make your decision. She is super nice and respectful to the point where she call me mama and every since then I always go to her. Her service was excellent And even though I’m a customer she doesn’t make me feel like a customer and I went up there Thursday, October 25 and realize that she doesn’t work there anymore. And When I tell you I was sad I was so sad that I walked out because I realize the different vibe even before I walked in and I was told that she doesn’t work there anymore. She was amazing and she was great. And if she’s reading baby girl it’s Mrs. Shelly.
