Update: They tack on a 'credit card convenience fee' which I didn't see mentioned anywhere on their website/online menu. I also did not see any prices on their homemade sweets in store, and they were on the expensive side for what they are - sweets made with fairly basic ingredients. Done with this place. Couple weeks ago the 2 items we ordered for pickup were only so-so.The mutton biryani was days old and the special chicken was way too spicy with no other balancing flavor.
Tried takeout one time. First the good - service is very pleasant and welcoming. There is no extra grease or extra heavy masala as promised. However, the taste was missing in every single item we tried except the chutney. It takes a lot of skill to cook with less oil/ghee and salt and still make food taste heavenly - it was very average on this front (I can cook a lot better anyday). Of course deep fried items will taste good nevertheless as long as they are fresh fried, but I'm not into those. Will try more menu items soon and add back...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem in the Atlanta metropolitan area (Suwanee). True to its name, their food tastes like the quintessential Indian mom’s homemade freshly cooked fare! For the simple reason that IT IS in fact cooked by two very hard-working Indian mothers every single day. I am amazed at the level of thoughtfulness and ingenuity that this friends-and-family owned joint has put into making sure that the food is prepared and delivered in its purest form. Which means no added MSG or food colors. And one of the owners further explained that they serve the food at room-temperature to avoid unnecessary reheating because most of their clientele has pickup orders.
The owners are very friendly, warm, and welcoming. They were patient and polite in explaining the different items on the menu. The place was packed with regulars and I can see why. Definitely coming...
Read moreMy husband and I were in the mood for flavor packed Indian food and Mom’s Kitchen did not disappoint! The food was flavorful and full of spices and spice; they definitely brought the heat which I loved! My husband has lower tolerance for heat than myself but they have delicious tangy side sauce that you can add to your meal to counter the spice level. This white sauce genius-ly balances heat while also adding another level of flavor and complemented the food well. The man at the counter was an absolute delight as he was very attentive and helpful in explaining what was on the menu and suggesting good food pairings based on what we were looking for. The ambience was simple, clean, and homey - when we walked in, we knew the food was going to be good.
All in all, this restaurant does not disappoint in spicy, flavor-packed, home-style...
