I suggested we order from this restaurant because I had a good experience in the restaurant just a week or so prior. But delivery is something completely different. My son ordered the traditional gyro sandwich. I ordered the meal. In both the meat was incredibly dry. The amount of tzatziki that comes with both meals is completely inadequate. My son ordered an additional amount of tzatziki for $2. It is shameful how small that add-on is. Seriously, this is something that goes with your food. You should work it into your price and not nickel and dime people. We also ordered a Greek salad. What a joke. It appeared to have been made hours before. And put into a container that was far too small. Seriously inedible. We also paid for French fries. $4 for approximately 12 french fries. Considering my son is a chef, the french fries should have been plentiful and in the container that the salad came in. The salad should have been in a much larger container, made fresh to order and the dressing on the side. The disappointment was huge. I spent over $60. Even though I had a good experience coming into the restaurant, I won't be back.I should be able to count on them to give me good carryout or delivery. What a shame there is quite honestly so much...
Read moreDecide to try out Shishkebab for a midafternoon lunch, and had a great experience. I arrived slightly after the cutoff period for the lunch specials, but the hostess was kind enough to still allow me to order from the lunch combinations. I got the traditional Gyro combination with fries. I was surprised with how good the Gyro was. The meat was well flavored, and there was a perfect balance with the meat, veggies and aromatics all wrapped in a delicious pita bread. Other local Mediterranean restaurants have a bad habit of drowning the gyros in sauce and vegetables, which is essentially a salad inside of pita bread, but at Shishkebab it felt like I was eating a proper gyro. The fries were good, nothing spectacular, just a classic crinkle fry. The Asian lady who took my order and served my food deserves an extra kudos for her great customer service. She went above and beyond to improve my experience through simple courtesies without me having to request anything. Overall you can’t beat the gyro lunch combo, and the great service. The interior was cozy and clean as well, and was an enjoyable dine in experience. Definitely a spot worthy of more attention, so be sure to give it a try. Rightfully advertised; this is the best traditional...
Read moreNice place. The food is good, and the service is friendly. They do need to sort out one or two tiny things.. the cleaner they use for the tables makes a very strong odor, so if you are sensitive to smell while you are having dinner, this may pose a challenge. Also, they charge extra for condiments, but do not disclose that on the menu or when you ask for the condiment. We asked for the red/spicy sauce to go along with their giant combo platter. The sauce is a tiny plastic take out cup like you would put ketchup in. We needed two, one for each of us. Nowhere on the menu does it say that it costs more for the hot sauce. The waitress did not say it was an extra cost. However, it was $.99/each on the bill. It's not a big price, but if they are going to charge a customer for something, they do need to tell the customer about it and not just stick it on the bill. I really did not want to get into a drama scene over $2, but I did mention this to the waitress. She acted surprised that this is even an issue, and did not offer to remove the charge, although we did not insist on it being removed from the bill. We just paid the bill, and politely...
