Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Georgia

Today was our first visit at Slim Chickens after hearing my family rave about how tasty the food is. After being stuck at the hospital for a few days, we decided to hop over and try Slim Chickens as a nice treat. The order taker was not so pleasant, after every meal item placed I was cutoff and rushed, to the point I had to mention to him, it was our first time at the restaurant so we were reviewing the menu as we ordered; mind you no one was behind us. The lady at the drive thru window further ruined our experience due to her unpleasant attitude. She was rude after us being 0.30 short (we misheard the total). We gave her the appropriate change, once we received our food, I asked if the restaurant had a house sauce that we should try. She said yes and then said it would be 0.42. I asked her if the tenders came with the house sauce and she said no, only the sauces you ordered. She walked two steps to get the sauce and came back to the window, she slammed the window and walked away because we were getting the 0.42 she asked for. We had to knock on the window to get her back to the window. I then had to inform her “it was our first visit so we didn’t know.” At this point I’m upset, because why should I have to keep explaining “it’s our first visit”? Employees in a customer service environment should know to treat every customer like it’s their first visit. We asked for the manager, John, who did not have a pleasant attitude nor customer service skill set to make us as customers feel welcomed and heard. Not once did he apologize for our first time experience being unpleasant, even after my husband told him his cashier slammed the window on us. First time eating here. Went through the drive-in for Sunday night dinner. It's way overpriced! For 2 people it cost $30 bucks! We each got a 4-piece chicken strip dinner. I asked if the fries could be substituted for fried mushrooms? The perky little voice on the other side said "yes". I ordered an extra side of fried okra & an extra sauce that cost 40 cents. They do have an amazing array of different flavored sauces which is refreshing! The drinks came with the meal. Shouldn't have cost that much. When I got around to the window, I was told it's a $2 up charge for each dinner to substitute fried mushrooms for fries! Why wasn't I told that when I asked about the substitution? I was not happy & I let them know that. That's my money they're fooling with! It would have been very courteous to let me know my dinner is now going to be a lot more than I planned for just because they substituted mushrooms for fries. Their motto is that their food is "fresh" however I watched them bring out a bag of frozen mushrooms & a bag of frozen okra. It took extra long time to cook it so we had to wait extra long in the Drive-Thru for our meal. No problem! There was nobody behind us. There wasn't a whole lot of people in the parking lot. That should have been a clue right there this place is way overpriced. The food was hot when we received it. However, the okra was frozen in the middle. Today I had the pleasure of reviewing Slim Chickens in Augusta,GA. This was my first time trying Slims but not the first time seeing the restaurant and hearing about it. The last few years I’ve seen them pop up everywhere and. After eating at Slims today I’m happy they have. I ordered the 3 piece chicken and 3 piece wings meal with honey mustard and slim sauce. I also ordered the fried mushrooms with ranch and a cheesecake jar for dessert. I am a sauce girl so if you can creat delicious sauces that’s how you can win me over. The next half is freshness and temperature of the food. When I ordered the food it was so piping hot I waited to eat it. I was very glad it was cooked throughly and piping hot. The dessert was cooled down and in a reusable mason jar. I tried the Carolina Gold flavored wings and they were so good it would make you want to slap yo mama!!! The tenders were breaded to perfection along with the fried mushrooms. The slim sauce was a bit bland but have no fear the ranch and honey mustard were perfection. I saw they had a rewards program on my receipt…to sign up for it you download the app and then scan your receipt to receive points. I was able to get 24 points today for my order.
