Terrible service, customer support, and management. Go to another location. It is unfortunate but this location earned only 1 star. This was one of the worst dining experiences across all restaurants I've ever visited and I'll explain why. However, the most blatant and obvious was that our waitress would walk right past us (within inches) as if we didn't exist, even though we raised our hands, waved at her, and tried verbally addressing her. It was so bad and noticable that even other nearby table guests were in awe and laughing in astonishment. I'll explain..
It began with not all of the food that we had ordered was brought out, or served. She set the food down and quickly left. We noticed some wrong food and some missing food. However, she never came to check on us and so, we sat waiting while other food got cold. Finally, I had to get the attention of another server (doing an excellent job) and ask her for our waitress. Our waitress eventually came to our table. When I brought it to her attention that we were missing a bowl of grits, she claimed that it wasn't included with that meal. I tried to say that on the menu it says that it's included with that meal. She defensively argued that it wasn't and that if "you want a bowl of grits, you can order one." I mean, we're talking about a bowl of grits! Even if I was wrong, there could stop be some courtesy. So, I politely asked her if she would bring me a menu. She didn't. She took it to the server entrance and pointed at it to other servers. She then brought a bowl of grits out, tossed it onto our table, and began to walk away. I asked her if it was included on the menu with that meal and she replied, "yeah", and walked away. I wasn't able to discuss the fact that the eggs we ordered were made and cooked completely different than what we had ordered or that the other sides were wrong as well!
Additionally, it took over an hour for our food to be made. We arrived at about 5pm with less than 1/4 capacity of guests. 3-4 other tables around us, arrived after us, ate, and left before us while we were still waiting for our order. We didn't leave until after 6:30pm! It took nearly an hour and a half for 2 adult breakfast meals and 2 kids breakfast meals.
Furthermore, we never received a single refill of drinks nor did she ever check on us. The only reason I was about to speak to her about the grits mishap was because I had to stop another waitress and ask her to please have our server talk to us. After all of this, I decided to speak with a manager and bring it to his attention that our server was grossly neglecting the stores patrons. He came to our table and again, I politely explained that we were bewildered about why and what had occurred. He said that he would go speak to the waitress to see what was going on. I asked him if I could please have a refill of tea after having ate biscuits and feeling parched. He brought me a glass of water, not tea, and said that he'd be right back. We never saw him again either! No explanation, no apologies, or anything. Our server finally returned to our table and brought me our check and the additional to-go orders placed at the beginning of our visit. She told us to have a blessed day and walked away even as we tried to still...
Read moreWorse Crackel Barrel I've ever been to. First impression was that floor was dirty and everything looked dated and dirty. We didn't get a basket of corn muffins and biscuits. I had to ask for it and then it came without muffin so i asked for them and got 2 muffins that were as hard as hockey pucks. I was there to celebrate my birthday and they didn't have any wine actually we're not serving alcohol at all. I'm not a huge drinker but I had wanted a glass of wine with my meal. My husband ordered the ribs and I ordered country fried steak which I've had umpteen times a different cracker barrels and it was really good. I wanted dumplings on the side and I had to go through contortions to get a small portion.... Which first they said they had, Then they said they didn't have, Then they had it again. And the waitress proceeded to tell us it was her first or 2nd day working. And also told us how very busy they were a while ago and that's why they were short handed with the food. It was excuse after excuse after excuse. So I ordered mashed potatoes which I expected to be fluffy and delicious and they were clumpy and very yellow, almost brown. I also ordered as a side Mac and cheese which was runny and disgusting. The Country fried steak was flat and greasy. It looked like someone had taken the piece that was made hours ago and refried it. I live in the South and I expected country fried steak to be descent at a Cracker Barrel.
For your birthday you get a free dessert so I asked for peach cobbler. My peach cobbler came in a dish with gobs of peaches and a thick sauce underneath something that appeared to be a square which was a quarter inch thick biscuit topped with Vanilla Ice cream. The biscuit was hard as a rock. It didn't look anything like a cobbler because I get it all the time at Southern restaurants and I make it myself. Totally gross.
I filled up on having several burnt biscuits with butter. My husband shared his ribs with me, which were okay, so I would have something to eat. Everything else was not acceptable. He also got mashed potatoes and he didn't eat them. I shared my dumplings with him since he shared his ribs. We left hungry.
It was a dinner not worthy of $40. I wouldn't pay $5 for it. At one point I did call over the supposed store manager when I asked for a couple of muffins, Unbeknownst that I would get hockey pucks, And she started to excuse the waitress for being new on the job. When someone is new, you train them before you put them to work. So obviously management does not exist at this location. That was prior to getting my food.
So what was the excuse for the chef??? Was he on the job his first day too?.
I'll go out of my way next time to go to a far away Cracker Barrel rather than ever go here again. That is if i dare to take another chance again. Awful doesn't...
Read moreI will never give Cracker Barrel my business ever again! On April 12th we pre-ordered $270 of food to cater a leadership conference for April 14th. The confirmation stated the order would be ready for pickup on the 14th at 07:30. I arrived at 07:35 and parked in the curbside pickup. Using the pickup feature in the confirmation email, I pressed "I'm here" and logged the parking space and vehicle description. After 10 minutes, I called the restaurant but received no answer. I entered the restaurant at 07:49 and notified the cashier I was picking up an order and that I had been waiting outside and called. After a few minutes she returned and said that one of the items was not ready and that they would bring it out when it was. I asked her how long that would be so that I could notify my group. She went and came back and said she didn't get an answer, that they didn't know. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me Chris was on the grill and couldn't come out. I insisted I speak with him. I needed to know a time to tell my colleagues so they could work around this delay as our meeting was to start at 08:00. At 8:15 Chris finally appeared with my five bags of food. I explained to him that my order was supposed to be ready at 07:30 for a meeting that was to start at 08:00. He stated that the casserole takes more than an hour to cook, so there was no way it could be ready by 07:30. I asked him why no one contacted us to notify us that the time would need to be delayed so that we could change our arrangements. His response was that they can't prep the food before the day of, to which I responded that they had the order 2 days in advanced and should have assessed the situation to let us know the pickup time would not be what they told us it would be. He told me next time not to order the casserole because everything else is quick and easy to make. An unbelievable response, infuriating, but I kept my cool and accepted my food. No apology, no ownership of wrong, no compensation was offered. The result, I will never do business again with Cracker Barrel anywhere and I will make sure everyone I discuss restaurants with will know I do not endorse this company. Perhaps Chris was short staffed or any number of challenges were happening this morning that were out of his control, but simple things in his control he failed to do and it cost his company a...
