My dad has taught me about many things, and, funny as it may sound, one of them is customer service. A week ago, if asked about Sonic's customer service, I would have rolled my eyes and rattled on about how the employees practically sound like they're grumbling as they take your order and how it takes forever to get your food. But that all changed two nights ago.
Two nights ago, my friends and I sat outside as we ate ice cream we'd ordered, smiling and laughing at each other, when suddenly a strange feeling began inside of me--a feeling I quickly knew was a seizure.
I have the ailment of epilepsy. "Epilepsy" is a VERY vague term for what anyone who's had more than one seizure and is likely to have more has. Seizures can be caused by flashing lights or nothing. They can involve shaking uncontrollably or staring into space. They can happen three hundred times a day or once every month. They can last two minutes or two hours. They can be cured or not cured. It all depends on the person.
Personally, my seizures last only two minutes but have gone as long as one or two hours a few times. My family and I don't know what the cure is, or if there is one. When I have a seizure, I begin losing memory, can't talk, and can't understand what others are saying to me. Though seizures typically last only two minutes, I have headaches, and the effects of memory loss they have on me can go on for an hour. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dumb--I got straight As and Bs in school, received high praise for my writing from my teachers in college, and am stinkin' good at remembering numbers! I don't like telling people I have epilepsy because then they pity and feel sorry for me when really, I feel like an ordinary person that's just like them. But back to Sonic...
I quickly got down on the ground because if I walked around, I might collapse. My friends realized what was happening to me and did everything they could to get me out of the seizure. I lost consciousness, but, as the seizure slowly ended, began to regain it. I heard a voice in the background and one of my friends responding, "She's okay, we've got her... thank you, though."
Later, when I'd fully regained consciousness and memory, I asked my friends if an employee had come out to see if I was okay. They said, no, FIVE employees had come out, one by one! According to my friends, who I trust and believe, the employees all seemed genuinely concerned.
It's fully possible they hated their job and wanted to see something exciting for once, but I don't think that's what happened. I think they each went back inside, worriedly telling one another about what was happening, and each of them wanted to know if they could be of any help. So much for grumpy millennials and their bad customer service!
P. S. The orders were perfect and ice cream...
Read moreI usually get okay Sevice and the food is always pretty good when I come to this location. However I came at night this time and we went through the drive through. I should have checked my order before I left. We knew something was wrong because the inside was filled with nothing but teenagers playing around yelling laughing etc doing absolutely no work. Very unattentive. When we needed anything extra they quickly rushed off and handed to us and closed the window to continue I guess with whatever conversation they were talking about. My tator tots tasted as if they were sitting under a light. I clearly ordered a grilled chicken sandwhich As we pulled off i opened it ( the sandwich already appeared to be room temperature through the wrapper and of course I recieved a totally different sandwhich. We pull back around and I ask for a refund. The manager came to the window saying that they probably confused my order with a different sandwhich. Mind you we were the only ones in the drive through. I did not want the food remade instead a refund. He then proceeded to give me a refund receipt however I paid with cash... so it led me to believe who did he refund... how did he refund it to a card when there was no card so I felt that I was being cheated. He maybe thought I was going to pull off while they kept my refund I’m not sure. He didn’t ask me how I paid.. and then quickly gave me back my money. I will not be coming back at night. During quarantine everybody’s Fast food seems to suck. Food sucks service sucks. If I give it another chance I will only come...
Read moreI came through the drive-through with a friend on Saturday evening August 6th 2022 around 7:30ish PM. I ordered 1 medium onion rings, 1 large onion ring and 1 small Snickers & Butterfiner blast. The young lady at the window was nice, took my order and within 5 minutes I had my food. I pulled up and checked my food, to my surprise the onion rings are cold and old, not fresh and half of them aren't even breaded. I go back through the drive through and politely ask the same young lady if I can please have a fresh order of onion rings because the ones they gave me are cold, old and not breaded. She looks at me with the worst attitude, asked for the bag and after waiting about 2 minutes ask me to pull into a parking space. I asked how long will it take and she says about 10 minutes bc the guy has to make new ones. After about 12 minutes a different young lady brings me a bag to my car, when I open the bag it has tons of napkins and sauces on top. TO MY SURPRISE THEY HAVE GIVEN ME THE SAME ONIONS RINGS BACK THAT I RETURNED, JUST HAD PUT THEM BACK IN THE GREASE ! AGAIN, I return to the window and politely ask for a refund, the initial young lady looks me straight in my face with the worst attitude ever and ask my why ! I tell her why and she stares at me for another minute, closes the window and 5 minutes later gives me a refund. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Sonic and unfortunately I will not be returning. Yareli (young Caucasian girl) is the Carhop name on my receipt if this...
