Waffle House — Restaurant in Georgia

It is always something with this location. They can’t decide if they are doing dine-in or take out only. It changes day to day, I guess just depending on how lazy employees are feeling that day. Regarding take out, it would probably benefit them to actually answer their phones to take To-go orders. They never pick up. One time we actually stood beside the counter when we came in to order take out (couldn’t place an order over the phone, HAD to be in person) and called the restaurant over & over while we waited. Not a single employee answered or even acknowledged the phone was ringing, 2 of them just sat on their phones.

Today I came in to a completely empty restaurant with three employees, all in the corner on their phones with their backs to the door. I stood there for a moment & finally they turned around & just yelled that they were carry out only. Didn’t even get up to see if I was trying to place a carry out order. I just walked out. I saw an elderly couple sitting in their car in the parking lot, I assume waiting for their food. They’re probably still waiting now.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Was a faithful customer until I realized the cooks were not wearing gloves. I went in one Sunday for breakfast and a lady next to me order then cancelled her order 5 mins after because she realized one of the workers was not wearing gloves. I thought no big deal right? But then I went back in the very next day and saw the same exact worker not wearing gloves and touching somebody's bread and cheese with her bare hands! I was appalled and brought it to the manager's attention. When we discussed it she gave me some malarkey about the health dept. not requiring they wear gloves by the grill but the thing about it the chick wasn't near the grills! Called corporate to no avail so I guess this is the next best thing to getting the word out. The staff is great but the sanitation issues are not worth your health. If you live in the area and need a clean sanitary Waffle House near by try the one off Hwy 42 next to 675. Very clean the staff is friendly and the cooks...

Last visit wasn't the greatest (grits were cold and lumpy), but most of the time this location is pretty decent. We usually visit once a month. Seems like this last time we paid more than usual. Not sure if prices have gone up, but we were charged more for little things (like cheese) that they use to let us slide on a bit before. $3 for 2 slices of cheese?!. None the less, we've gotten use to take out, so I'll just be adding some slices when we get back to the house in the future. 1 waitress was working and serving everyone (dine in and take-out orders), while the other was in slow motion. So there was a long wait time (about 40 minutes for a take-out order). I know which server we'll be looking for next time! Yes, we'll be back. The gentlemen on the grill were great. Scrambled eggs and hashbrowns were on point. Sausage was good and bacon crisp...
