I live in DeKalb. Drove to Morrow to shop today. We found everything we needed.
Got to register. Cashier seemed “off”. I understand we sometimes have “off” days. So I asked her if she wanted me to go to another register and told her it was totally OK if she needed that. She seemed confused, didn’t really answer, then started saying something somewhat incoherently, and motioning to the conveyor belt. (NOTE: I should have left at this point and found a different cashier.)
But I didn’t. She started ringing up my items. A box of noodles in the aisle were listed at $11.99. They rang up for $19.99. I mentioned this discrepancy. She left to talk to the manage(s) about this. She was gone at least 15 minutes. People were coming up and leaving the line behind me. I stood waiting with my three children. Finally, I went to the customer service desk. A woman there told me they were trying to update the cost of the item in their system. Instead of coming back to continue ringing up my items (or to tell me what the hold up was), our cashier was behind a partition sitting with some co-workers. When I came over the other woman shooed her back to the register and apologized to me.
While she was ringing up a papaya partially wrapped in paper, I noticed that it had a gash in it. I asked her to take it off. As you can see from my receipt, she instead rang it up again. After ringing out, we went to the in-store restaurant…😖 Just don’t.
When I got home, I looked at my receipt, discovered the error and called the store. I spoke with the woman who had shooed the cashier back to the register while I was there. I explained what happened, that I was charged twice for an item I don’t have, that I didn’t live close, and didn’t want to return to the store. I said that I wanted to email my receipt so they could mail me my refund. She said they don’t do that.
Nam Dae Mun used to be one of favorite markets, but this was a really awful visit and I wanted them to not want me to be inconvenienced any more that I already had been.
Three stars are for selection of items and...
Read moreLet me tell you about Nam Dae Mun! The first time I walked into this store, I thought I had died and had gone to foodie heaven. I live down in South East Georgia (SEGA), so while there are plenty of stores of the international variety, there are none that are the size of a giant name brand store; and this one most certainly is. The produce area it's self is such a splendid display of the bounty and variety the world over; from Prickly Pear to Burdock Root. You want rice? There is an aisle probably 300 foot long with Zatarain's to Black Sticky Rice and everything in between. There are an innumerable number of Mexican chocolate drink varieties, spiced beverage mixes, and other wonderful treats like the pastries in the bakery! Oh my God, so very dangerous. 😱🤭 There are butchers there on site, a fish monger on site, fresh fish, live fish, crabs, and other shellfish. Sauces? Oh yeah, every brand and variety of soy sauce, mole, fish sauce, chili sauce, and anything else. The elusive eel sauce, yep, they had it. Frozen vegetables? Yep. Dim Sum and Potstickers of all types. Ice-cream? Yes. Mochi? Yes. Finally, a part that may be a favorite of mine, the cooking supply. If you cook, then you know what you want and need for your kitchen. Sometimes, that includes all the little great and wonderful ods and ends. They are here; pots, pans, utensils, trays, cutting boards, etc, etc, etc. Finally, to my absolute most favorite part of this store. The people. Such an array of languages, music, and more. Every time I have asked another shopper, for their personal opinion on a food stuff of interest or how to look for the best of something, without fail, they are gracious, and kind enough to give me some of thier precious time in spite of my ignorance. That is by far my favorite part of this store. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I don't think you will be disappointed.

P.S. The temperature in the store can be a bit cold, I would bring a hoodie or something extra......
Read moreIt's really terrible with the customer service of this Nam Dae Mun business. Now I understand why the business situation of this store is getting worse and worse in this competitive era, this business serves customers very impolitely and bureaucratically. Today I came here around 8:30 to buy things and support this business as usual, but after a long time waiting for them to check the price, they said that the price was not available. I had to go with an extremely rude and impolite woman who refused to understand that the listed price changed from $99 to $89. This woman was talking impolitely and then left, not wanting to work anymore and no responsibility. In my mind, I thought how could this happen? I went to the service desk to ask who was the manager, but she disappeared inside and I also wanted to know her name, but of course I couldn't. especially when i asked for the price of the oven which was so clear why she didn't accept it, she replied that IT'S A SCAM. i was stunned and didn't know what to say. but everything has its price, i scanned the barcode and saw that WALMART was selling it for 89 compared to 99 at this NAM DAE MUN store. Finally that makes it easier to buy it from WALMART so i don't need it anymore. so sad for this business for letting a mean, rude and impolite woman take care of it.
The culture of ignoring customers and leaving is the first time I've seen it, maybe it only exists here!
posted $89 but sold for $99 and found out it can't be fixed so admitted it was a scam
I really don't know what to say to this store owner when this female employee went to say that this store is posting fraudulent prices, but it makes sense. If customers don't pay attention or buy a lot of things, they might not realize it, but this time I knew the price and only bought one item, so the scheme failed. I feel sorry for this...
