Tacos Tijuana — Restaurant in Gig Harbor

So, it saddens me to write this a little bit. I love this taco restaurant. The food is really authentic and tasty. I have been going there since it opened. Its a little dark and moody on the inside. They used to have a taco special that was a la carte tacos for a few bucks but did away with it. I went in today to order six tacos and the bill was $40. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I settled on the 4 taco plate...which was $15 and change...but it wasn't a plate at all...it was a small bag of chips and four street tacos. Not sure if they are just caught up in an expensive lease or what but there are other options that are cheaper here and likely just as good. See any number (by my count 3) different taco trucks...to say nothing of Met Market (which is the same price). Please bring back your lunch taco...

I had a fabulous meal at Tacos Tijuana with my girlfriend the other night... The people are so friendly... both the patrons and servers. It's a small, casual place near the Goodwill.

The pupusas are lighter than most, served with a chunky tomato onion salsa. I normally don't order carnitas, but I'm really happy I got the carnitas tacos; super moist without being greasy, the tortillas had just a slight crispness from being on the grill... So fresh and delicious! The beans are really great too... My girlfriend would want me to mention that. We drank Modelos and had a great time talking to people. Highly recommend for a casual meal. Just thinking about it makes me want to run...

With peace and love, this was the most upsetting $20 spent. And for one burrito!

Carne asada burrito, no extras, and I walked out with 20 less dollars and a sad excuse for TJ Mexican food. I get its Gig Harbor and not San Diego, but charging that much to people who don't know better is the biggest offense.

The rice isn't Mexican rice, the beans had no flavor, the meat was bleh, and the salsas are mid at best.

Anyone in these reviews giving more than 3 stars has never had anything other than Taco Time and it shows.
