6/1/24 It has been a little while since we drove to Gig Harbor. It isn't like Gig Harbor is a long way away; it's just that the traffic can be atrocious in a particular area, which keeps us from driving that way too often!
With the anticipation of a new dining experience, we braved the traffic and set off for Gig Harbor on Saturday. Our destination was the Metropolitian Market, but along the way, we stumbled upon a hidden gem-Table 47.
For those unfamiliar with the area, Table 47 offers a unique experience. Nestled within the Oceans5 building, it shares its space with a charming coffee lounge, a bustling bar, and the restaurant. But that's not all-the building also houses a bowling alley, an arcade, laser tag, top golf swing suites, and event spaces. A true one-stop destination for entertainment and dining.
Onward to our meals, we ordered. I had a Berry and Burrata Salad, and my hubby had the Tahoma Burger.
The Berry and Burrata Salad was a delightful medley of flavors and textures. It combined the crispness of frisee and arugula with the crunch of pistachios. The added burst of sweetness from the berries was delightful, with the tangy toasted shallot vinaigrette drizzled throughout it and then the star of the of the dish was the creamy Burrata cheese, creating a perfect balance of smell, textures and tastes.
I cant begin to tell you how delicious the Burrata cheese is; if you have never experienced Burrata cheese, it is an Italian cow's milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. The outer casing is solid cheese, while the inside contains stracciatella and clotted cream, giving it an unusual, soft texture. It is typical of Apulia (Region of Italy). Honestly, I could have been happy eating just that lol.
My hubby's Tahoma burger consisted of beef, Beecher flagship cheese, garlic aioli, and Washington apple on a brioche bun. It also had fries on the side and a side of ranch, which tasted homemade. It was delicious. His minor criticism was that although he loves flagship cheese, it isn't a super strong cheese, so he felt it was a little lost in the burger; he would have preferred Brie or Camembert. That said, any cheese would be best melted over the apple versus unmelted, like it was served to him. Overall, he felt it was a good burger but would try something different next time.
Table 47 has an excellent area for enjoying the weather—good weather, I hope. I would classify it as a sunroom of sorts. It's slightly enclosed, but you get the movement of the air. Perfect for a warm day.
I feel that Table 47 has a contemporary visual look, with a menu that would suit a fine dining experience but offers a feel of casualness and laid-backness; I would consider Table 47 a fine casual dining restaurant.
Table 47 is located in a shopping plaza/center. 5268 Point Fosdick Drive, Gig Harbor, Washington. Several businesses surround it such as PetSmart, Matteress firm, Autozone, and so much more. Parking isnt an issue.
Generally everything looked clean, no smells or dirty tables. The carpet definately has seen better days. Where I was sitting, the base of the window was fairly dirty
Gig Harbor as a whole is charming, with a strong connection to a maritime heritage. It also offers a pretty historic waterfront, a variety of dining experiences, and many little unique shops to spend your afternoons in. Once your done eating, go and explore the waterfront!!
Please be kind to ALL living things, and thank you, always, for supporting small...
Read moreWe were extremely impressed with Table 47 Catering! The process of booking Table 47 for our wedding was so easy. We loved their menu and they were accommodating to all dietary restrictions and allergies. We went with an open bar, plated dinner, app table, added toast, and smore’s station. The service was exceptional, the food was delicious, and the smore’s station was a huge highlight. They were a great team together. They followed the timeline and worked so well with our coordinator to have the night flow so perfectly. I wanted to mention something they did that went above and beyond our expectations. We had a guest arrive that we did not plan to have and I didn’t have a seat for them since this was a plated dinner. Table 47 set this guest up with a seat and food and got them settled before we even had our grand entrance! The consideration they had for our guests was impeccable and we are so grateful. We directly worked with Margot throughout this process and she was absolutely incredible! She answered all our questions and continued to be a great support for all our needs/wants for our wedding. Never planning a big event before, we didn’t really know what to expect but Margot guided us through every detail involving their crew. This included the food but so much more. We did our rentals through them, we went over set up items, timeline, and the venue layout. One of my favorite memories of our wedding is taking a brief moment to walk our reception area and to see all our tables set up. It was very emotional for us to see our vision come to life but a thousand times better because of Margot and her team. We can’t thank them enough for that special moment. Each team member was so kind to us and our guests. We heard many compliments about our bartender and the drinks were fantastic. The servers were so tentative to us and our guests as well. We met a few staff after the event and we walked away thinking how amazing everyone from Table 47 was and what a pleasure it was to work with them. We wish we could have individually thanked each person for their professionalism, kindness, and incredible service. Margot - thank you so much for being so gracious and making this process so easy and fun. Thank you Table 47 crew so much for all your hard work and we sincerely appreciate everything you did to make our day so...
Read moreWe've been here multiple times for the food and previously had good experiences but tonight was disaster after disaster.
Came here with my 2 year old and 6 year old, my mother in law and then my husband and myself. First of all, we were seated with no drinks, no waitress or anything for about 25 minutes. Her section wasn't particularly busy so I'm not sure what the delay was. Finally the waitress came to a table nearby, still didn't take our order and left. Another 10 minutes or so passed and she finally came to take our order. She then brought our drinks, and my Mother in law is unable to drink without a straw, so she requested one. After about 10 minutes of waiting, we finally asked someone else to bring one.
Our food eventually came out after a long time. Then we decided to order dessert. She said she would be back in a second to take our dessert order. After about 15 minutes she finally came back and took our order. I ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake, the second my spoon touched the cake I knew something was wrong. It was ROCK SOLID. I then touched it and my "Chocolate LAVA cake" that should be hot and melty and gooey, was ice cold. Not even attempted to be warmed up at all. We sent it back and they said that the Chef apologized and was rushing.... my dessert wasn't even ATTEMPTED to be warmed up. It was simply taken from the freezer or fridge or whatever, and placed on my plate.
And then after the service had been awful, after the dessert was a complete mess up, they didn't even offer to comp the dessert or anything else. I have managed multiple food establishments in my life, and was shocked at the lack of responsibility about our entire experience. I would never allow for this to happen at any of my establishments, and would definitely be trying to make it up to the customers.
