Im amazed this place has a decent rating here, it was extremely disappointing, and rather frustrating. The spicy chicken teriyaki was barely marinated and a bit dry, then subsequently doused with way too much sauce on the outside, horrible. Salad came with a tiny half filled cup of thousand island from a bottle, rather than the signature homemade dressing that all other teriyaki joints have....ridiculous.
Every teriyaki place I go to (and ive been to a TON), I order spicy chicken teriyaki with extra meat, no rice and extra salad in place of the rice. Most places will give me 1.5-2lbs worth of chicken, and dont charge for the salad. Usually runs about 18$. This was the first place to charge me 1.50 for extra salad, 4.50 for extra meat, and subsequently gave me barely a pound worth of chicken.... and guess what? They charged me nearly 22 dollars.
Everything about this place was subpar. I went purely out of convenience of its location because I was short on time. Do not believe the sign out front that says " best in gig harbor", this was BY FAR the worst teriyaki experience I've ever had, not just in gig harbor but anywhere.
Get Teriyaki from Wok near Albertsons if you want REAL teriyaki, will be far better quality, more generously portioned...
Read moreThe Mongolian beef and chicken teriyaki was amazing! I mentioned to the cook directly to make the Mongilian beef(new dish) a particular way(low sugar) and he had an amazing attitude about the request. I also requested that the chicken teriyaki have the sauce on the side, which was not a problem. I realized that the chicken wasn't heavily saturated with marinade, which was ideal. The Teriyaki sauce is by far the most distinct(runny consistency) that I've had in the Gig Harbor area, which I enjoy very much. The food was made very quickly. The presentation was great. Every aspect of the dish was well placed next to another all on a rectangular plate that was aesthetically pleasing. The service and attitude of the individual who took our order and served us was great. The operation is now under new ownership, which contributed to a more uplifting atmosphere than previous ownership. The cook said that they're going to be incorporating more Chinese dishes, which is amazing and welcomed. To ownership and staff: Thank you so much for an amazing experience! We will...
Read moreDon’t get me wrong I have eaten here many times over the years.its always been fair to good but Lately I have noticed the quality has diminished . This evening it was the worst teriyaki I have ever had. The to go boxes melted like it had been microwaved . Presentation looked horrible , salad Wilted meat cut into little squares and dry. Fried rice mediocre at best and egg shell in it. We paid $50 plus tip for 2 meals and 2 drinks side of gyoza which was decent the only thing. We had no utensils or anything in the bag . Sorry but you gotta step up your game . Or maybe it’s time...
