We played the Legend of Theradonia room, and we had a blast, in spite of our attempts to ward off the the goblin invasion ending in glorious failure. Our game master Haley did a great job guiding us through the experience which spanned multiple rooms, making us feel welcome and answering all our questions.
Even before we decided to book the room, we asked a question about the room outside of business hours because of something in the disclaimers we had to sign off on. It mentioned "crawling" might be necessary but we were assured nothing claustrophobia-inducing would feature in the design of the room.
The room itself wasn't the only timed experience. You're supposed to arrive ten minutes before your booked time - which can be tricky for a 6 pm slot if coming from Olympia due to I-5 traffic. Better plan quite a bit of safety buffer. Later evening slots are probably not affected. The business itself is in something called "West Business Park", so keep an eye out or you'll miss it. (GPS navigation definitely recommended.)
As for the room itself, while details cannot be revealed of the ancient magical lore therein, the experience is enhanced by cool little special effects like lights coming on at the right time or in response to your actions and things controlled by the GM themselves. There was a good variety of puzzles and clues to sort out.
If anything could be improved... Well, the number locks could be more clearly marked as to which position you have to shift the numbers into. And more light in the room would be welcome. But none of that was even close to ruining the experience.
We failed, but we...
Read moreThis escape room was really fun (Legend Of Theradonia) and the game masters were so sweet and helpful. It was mostly Lexi helping us with Jaeden (sorry if spelling wrong) as well. I have done 2 other rooms before and it was my mother's first time. I think if you're fairly experienced you could probably set a good pace, but for us we ended up having to rely on clues quite a bit to make good time. Thankfully you aren't penalized or limited in how much you can ask. I would guess if we had more like 4 people that would have been the sweet spot. That being said, Lexi was great at providing clues and it was actually amusing how often we had a disembodied voice directing us to the next hint. We kept butchering the mystical helper's name (SAFIRA) to the point she started teasing us about it, which was hilarious! That's consistently one of the things I like most about escape rooms, how each time is its own unique experience. We did manage to work through several of the puzzles entirely on our own and starting rolling through things toward the end. I liked the variety. Without giving anything away, there were some puzzles that incorporated more senses than you'd typically experience in most escape rooms. I was impressed by the quality of sets and props, a mix of low and high tech setups. You definitely get a sense of accomplishment as you work through each of them. Lots of credit to the game masters and great themes. I would definitely...
Read moreThis escape room is without a doubt the best I've ever been to. And we have been across the country for escape rooms.
These rooms are so well crafted that every thread of the world you knew beforehand dissapears. You are engulfed with the story and details.
This time we did the final chapter...the building is actually haunted and the only way we survived was by working with the spirits to solve the puzzle. Some spirits were helpful while others were annoyed by our presence. Though it was terrifying we always felt an overarching presence that kept us safe. The previous investigator (now our game master) Mia!!!! Was our saving grace keeping an eye on us and completing the experience. They set the tone for what to expect and very skilfully gave us all the information we needed while keeping the imersive experience flowing.
Mt favorite spirit would occasionally appear when we were lost or scared. At first we thought she would get to close or drag us into the unknown but instead she would show us secrets.
This experience was SCARY! there were moments where I had to take a knee or signal that I was overwhelmed. Not because I was scared of being hurt but the overstimulation of music, spirits in the walls and other presence had me on edge. Nothing feels better than a guttural scream sometimes!!
10/10 will be going back. This is a small business that is really going all out to make sure the experience is unique and well...
