Came in there over the weekend as my husband and I were in town visiting. Cute spot. Has a lot of potential. The lemonade was good... He ended up wanting food for our gondola ride... I wasn't hungry, so he just got an order of fish and chips, I was maybe going to steal some fries. Took what seemed like forever. Maybe one or two people ahead of him in line. Finally, after maybe 35/40 minutes, we got our order. Fresh is what the sign said... what we got were frozen, crinkle fries from a bag. That was the second letdown. I didn't try any of it. But he did say it wasn't worth it and that he was disappointed in the food and threw out the majority of it after having a piece of fish and a few fries. Now today... he's sick. I'm not saying it was this. But it was the only food I didn't eat the same as him yesterday when we were there in town. So, it's a bit of a red flag. Think some tweaking of the menu and more care needs to be put into the food to make it worth that wait and the cost. We...
Read moreHmmm. I'm really not sure how to review this spot. I'd like to think I was there on an off day and they were short-handed because it really was a disaster. The woman working the order window got an A for personality, but her organizational skills, focus, and general order management get a D- at best. Lots of angry customers and in the 35 minutes we waited for our food (after 15 minutes to order, with only half-dozen customers in front of us), we saw many potential customers leave. The one guy cooking could have definitely used an extra set of hands, but he did put out some great fish&chips. The shrimp and avocado croissant was disappointing. Not due to the flavor - that was fine. But the size vs. price, considering they were a few baby shrimp, felt out of bounds. Next time I'm in the area, I'll take a look to see if it was just a bad day as this spot has a lot of potential. Especially on a nice sunny day like we had. Hope to be able to update this review...
Read moreI love the Trolley at the Boatyard! You can choose to sit at one of their many picnic benches and eat but I like to order my food and go next door to Evergreen State Brewing and enjoy a nice cold beer while I wait for my order. The owner, Carlen, gives me a call when it's ready to be picked up. My favorites are the burger and fries (the fries stay crispy until they're gone), and the chicken fettuccine is the best I've ever had! The sauce is creamy, and I love the veggies mixed in with it! Genuinely friendly, enthusiastic service and delicious food in gorgeous downtown Gig Harbor! Don't just take my word for it give The Trolley a try...
