Dulce Churro Cafe — Restaurant in Gilbert

We went there because my wife and I saw an IG post and it looked good. First of all, the churros are just basic churros, there's nothing extravagant about the churro itself, I've had way better stand-alone churros, and they weren't no $3....WITHOUT fillings or toppings. So you're basically paying to make a mediocre churro edible, which shouldn't be necessary. We ordered 2 horchatas of the many flavors you can choose from, and it's just water with pre-made "Kool-aid" type packaged horchata mix; definitely not home made, AND the flavors are just all syrup that also didn't taste like anything. So we were basically drinking cloudy water. We purchased their soft serve ice cream, and it came out grainy and tasted "fake", and the vanilla didn't taste like anything, just tasted like milk or cream; I also had a scoop of their cookies and cream, and it was mint cookies and cream (which was fine bc I actually like mint chocolate chip)...there wasn't anything special about the ice cream though. We also ordered the little bites for our daughter with a glaze, our total came out to $29!!! Definitely not worth it, save yourself the money and go to Costco and order their WAY BETTER churros, and their soft serve...save...

Wanted to try this place that people were talking about. Noticed right off that this place needs a food health inspection. The tables are dirty with crumbs and hairs. They had a 8 year old boy washing tables with just faucet water and then washing the garbage cans with the same rag. Then cleaning the counter with the same rag. A worker with long hair was playing with her hair and flipping her hair everywhere and then touching food. A male worker in the back was eating food with the same gloves he was serving food with. Others were there complaining as well about the wiping of the tables with just water and the girl with the hair. After the last customer left the ones that complained the owner went and told the girl to put her hair up and she sat there braiding her hair over the toppings then didn't even wash her hands afterwards.. The female owner was wiping down tables and then would go and touch food. Not once did we see any worker wash their hands. The churros were over cooked. The ice cream wasn't good. For 2 churros and ice cream it was $16. Not going back again wasn't impressed and absolutely disgusted of the non...

The entire experience was beyond uncomfortable. I'm only giving 2 stars because I don't typically like to rate a place without giving them a second chance but honestly I have zero desire to return. I took my 2 year old there for a fun treat. As soon as we walked in the guy behind the counter just stared at us. I said hi and he didn't respond. I asked how he was doing and he didn't respond. Literally just stared at us. It was so uncomfortable I almost walked out. As I browsed the menu he bluntly asked, "What do you want?" I explained we had never been there and wondered if he had any recommendations, etc. Nope just continue to stare. I finally just ordered a basic churro because I was so uncomfortable. Despite being the only one there it took forever to get the churro. I felt so awkward and unwelcomed that I drove to a shady part in the parking lot to eat it rather than bare sitting there. It seems like this place could have potential but not with how horrible the service is. I honestly wasn't overly impressed with the churro either.
