I suppose this is more of a critique for the corporate structure of Jamba than it is of the fine customer service I received during my first visit here. Also Keep in mind that this location has only been open for approximately two weeks, so (hopefully) some of these things may change over time.
I had never been to any Jamba location prior to this visit, so as is my usual custom, I asked the 2 girls that were taking my order if they had any recommendations based on their expertise, experience or even just personal opinion. Without much hesitation they recommended the strawberry wild, so I ordered that and a waffle. After waiting some 11-14 minutes, I received my smoothie and waffle. I opened my waffle from the bag and realized that there were no utensils, napkins, plates, or condiments included. I asked if I could receive and if it was customary to get any toppings or syrup or anything else with the waffle. The employee consulted with another employee before confirming that they in fact did not have any condiments to go with the waffle. Somewhat perturbed I continued undeterred. Im glad I did because it ended up being g the best waffle I have ever had in my entire life. The Smoothie was delicious as well.
Despite pleasant customer service, a supremely clean restaurant inside and out, a delicious smoothie, and the best waffle of my life, I was still left with an experience that was less than stellar. The inside is laid out in an intentionally simple, clean, and clutter free design. That design apparently also comes with terribly uncomfortable chairs that left me with a deeper appreciation for Starbucks chairs that usually have small degree of cushion and comfort. But the biggest annoyance, and I don't even know how this is a thing in 2019 anymore, especially when this particular café is surrounded by Rudy's, which has Wi-Fi, Starbucks, which has Wi-Fi, and the Gateway hospital across the street, which has Wi-Fi, I was made to wait the 10 to 15 minutes with no Wi-Fi, no connection to the outside world, and no alternative Jamba products or offerings for me to ponder about... I was left with this plane, although beautiful in concept, empty lobby and the thoughts inside my head…...
Read moreThe staff here was just very unkind and refused to give me a receipt or credit for rewards points when I asked. When I asked for my receipt I was told I cannot get one. When I asked a second time in disbelief, a different person unapologetically yelled out the window, "Even if we get you a receipt you won't get a barcode." I said, "ok well what do we do now, because I need my receipt and my rewards." She said, "WOW." Your customer service lacks any empathy, and you clearly need to get back to school to get a job you actually like. Keep in mind, moments before this I was handed an Ipad and asked to leave a minimum 15% tip, which I did. But, why is management more concerned about tips than receipts or rewards? If staff is clearly aware about receipts or rewards not working they should ask for a phone number to give rewards. I would appreciate courtesy, especially if you're asking for tips. "Wow" -Jamba Millennial.
I came on another visit and another staff member refused us a receipt. That time we waited 5 mins and got our receipt. No big deal. This time that did not work. What kind of business can't give a receipt? Many businesses email receipts; I'm sure there is a solution.
Another time I came to this location I had placed an online order for work. I walked in the door to pick up my to go order and had to sit and wait 5 minutes before anyone even said anything to me. Then had to wait another 10 minutes for them to make my order upon my arrival. Then once again I battled for my receipt, this time so I could get easily reimbursed from work. The point of an online order is to get it promptly when you arrive....and once again why are you refusing customers receipts Jamba? Why is this an issue?
So yes, I'm finally fed up with this location. Ill have to buy $8 frozen fruit drinks elsewhere until you get your receipt and customer...
Read moreAcai bowl was underwhelming but crunchy at the same time? Idk if that makes sense. It was a mouthful of sweet and frozen sweet. When I think of granola, I think seeds of all types, salty kick, sweet kick, crunchy clusters, and maybe a squishy additive (raisins or other dried fruit lol). Honey was a nice touch but that bottle looked anemic to start and very little goopy bee labor juice was deposited onto the bowl. I like the sweet sweet taste of insect labor. ;)
Store was clean. One stray cricket but whatever. It was evening in Arizona. Who cares about a cricket. Space in the store was used appropriately. Atmosphere nothing out of the ordinary. I got the impression we caught them as they were putting stuff away because it took slightly longer to get the orders out. But again who cares. Only minus 1 star for the 1 dimensional acai bowl. I'd love to see some salty kick and some sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds for some protein filling nutrition. 100% carbs in macros isn't exactly my version of dinner. Seeds! Literally the easiest part of...
