Happy Lemon — Restaurant in Gilroy

I have been coming here for the past 2 years and this place was my go to store for boba. This past few months, they have increased their prices and their salted cheese has been so incosistent in terms of texture and taste.

The worst experience for me was coming here 15m before closing time. I waited in line along with 7 other people for a good amount of time. When it was my time to be served (6:01), i was turned away because apparently they stop taking orders at 6pm. I was shocked thinking why didnt anyone tell us before we came in that they would stop serving drinks at 6pm? The family that was infront of me got served because he was so angry. So unfair. I will never be back at this place. Fyi, i message the owners/managers about this incident and no response.

First time coming to a happy lemon and ordering something. Unfortunately I ordered a drink that I didn't end up liking and just couldn't finish. I ended up going back inside In hoping they might be able to make me something else and they did. Female worker, I wish I got her name, was so nice and accommodating. She made me the Okinawa brown sugar milk tea drink with 25% sugar and it was so delicious. My original drink was a lemon honey green tea and i hated it and couldn't drink. If they wouldn't have remade me another drink, I never would have walked into another happy lemon but now every time I come to gilroy I will be stopping by to get that...

Maybe this rating isn't fair because we didn't come for what this location is known for - drinks. We were drawn in by a big sign on the door advertising delicious-sounding chicken bites with great, interesting flavors.

The reality is that the food here is an afterthought. They have one fryer - we ordered two orders, so all told the transaction took over 20 minutes. The chicken was... Crunchy, but bland and squishy inside, just not great. They don't offer sauces, they literally don't offer anything other than just these chicken bites.
