We want to say that we cannot thanks Kerena & Dan enough. During a recent stay, I somehow ended up leaving my wallet behind, in room 102. Lucky for us Kerena on the staff found it and because she has stellar integrity, she immediately reached out to us to let us know. Unfortunately for us we were already several hundred miles away because we had vacated the room at daybreak. Kerena, and manager, Dan worked with us and went above and beyond to make sure the wallet (with many credit cards and personal identifications was shipped safely back to us.
This level of integrity is all too rare these days and we are so very thankful. So if you are thinking of staying here, know that you are great hands with exceptional nice people.
The area and grounds were clean and nice. WAY, way better than the average Motel 6 or Super 8. The only room for improvement would be the mattress that was in our room was not very quality feeling, okay and was able to get rest, just could have been better. Overall the room was nicer than many of the $100-ish motels we have stayed at in recent years during our many travels. So many motels in this price range are just dumps these days, this Quality Inn - Gilroy was not like that at all.
One other thing that is super important to us, is that I have a service animal dog (service animal not esa). Many places we face awkward challenges and suspicion around that, and sometimes I end up paying pet fees anyway just to avoid it. In this case there were no hassles at all and we felt welcome and respected from the start. Thanks for this too Quality Inn - Gilroy.
Thanks again Dan and Kerena, good, good karma on you...
Read moreHotel had been cheaply remodeled and wasn't very clean. There were gaps where the laminate flooring wasn't finished on the edges (like where it butted up to the bathroom flooring), and a disgusting amount of who knows what collected in the gaps. I spilled my dog's water on the floor and when I wiped it up with some tissues, they came up filthy. So while the floor appeared to have been swept, it quite obviously hadn't been mopped or sanitized for awhile. Needless to say, my shoes didn't come off until I got in bed. Luckily it was only me staying this time because the mattress had a huge, quite visible breakdown on one side where either people always sat, or an elephant did. "Breakfast" was served IN a room (yes, an actual numbered hotel room is where they served breakfast. NOT in the lobby or other common area). Needless to say, I didn't bother with even going to that, opting for the likely safer option of gas station food before I got back on the road. My boyfriend paid for the hotel room through a 3rd party app, but when I got there, the lady requested a card for the file, assuring me it wouldn't be charged. Not having a cc, I gave her my debit card.l, and when I looked at my account the next day, I discovered it had been charged TWICE for the $90 hotel room and once for the $20 nightly pet fee. This hold remained for 3 days before the two room fees finally dropped off, which was VERY frustrating given that I'd planned my money for this trip to adopt a rescue dog, the room had been prepaid, and the manager said my card...
Read moreLooked forward to this stay here, based on the previous ratings and reviews. Unfortunately, that was short lived. We booked our stay here as it was conveniently located and better priced than the options on the coast, our destination. We picked up our key cards around 3pm then proceeded on to Monterey, not returning until later that evening around 10pm. Upon settling down for the evening, plugging my phone in, I discovered a condom stuck to the bedskirt next to the nightstand. Not knowing whether it was new or used, I avoided it. It was definitely opened and had been handled. I notified my brother immediately to check his room as he and his family were staying in the room adjacent to us. I proceeded to notify the gentlemen at the counter, VJ, first thing in the morning as my wife was already asleep late that evening. He agreed with me; it was in plain view and clearly should have been removed during cleaning. This was based on a photo I showed him as well as a visual inspection that he conducted and photo'd as well. VJ listened to my concerns and responded that he would call the manager (why was he not on site, I wonder?) and get back to me with a remedy. Upon checking out later that morning, he said he spoke to the manager and could only offer me a 20% discount for what was clearly a serious health violation. Disgusted, we left. I was not pleased but had no desire to become belligerent with the gentlemen at the counter as it was not his fault nor was he...
