Great breakfast spot! We were visiting Hartford for the weekend and stopped here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. As of August 22, it was outdoor dining only. Didn't actually count them, but there were probably ~15 tables on the patio. Most were 2 person tables. Felt very safe regarding COVID. Waiting line in the parking lot had Xs on the ground marking 6-foot distancing. Servers were all masked properly. All guests we saw were masked properly too while waiting. Most then took masks off once seated. Laminated menus were taped up on the walls, and specials were on a chalkboard by the entrance. At 8:30am on a nice Saturday morning, we only had to wait a few minutes, but the line grew while we were there. Building provides shade for the patio on what was a very warm morning. We got the lobster breakfast sandwich and the biscuits and sausage gravy. Both were delicious! Would definitely come back!

VERY RUDE WAITRESS. After waiting in line for 25 minutes, we sat down. When the waitress came over, we said. We're ready to order., to which she replied and I quote, " Well I am not ready to take your order". When the food finally came about 25 minutes later, the waitress Sue said "take your time". I said quietly to my party...sure with the 75 minute time allowance running". Sue came back to our table and said "we have 18 tables and try to get everyone in. I do have waitress ears". Ken's should reconsider whether Sue should be a waitress there or not. The fact that she is apparently the co-owner makes the experience even less acceptable. Very unpleasant visit.

The folks here take food AND friendliness to another level! It feels like most of the patrons have just walked into “Cheers!”. My go tos are the amazing lobster omelet (with the planned spinach and Swiss). I get Hollandaise to top this off. Add in grilled veggies and extra crispy corned beef hash. Others have loved the biscuits and gravy (best ever had) and the “Benedicts”! Just food heaven! 10/10/2024: celebrating the life of my friend, Michael, who introduced me to this amazing place. Once again, great people and great food!

First time at this restaurant for breakfast, nice atmosphere and very busy! Was there with two friends and we all had something different and for the most part the food was good except for one issue, one of my friends who is in the restaurant business for 20+ years found a label in his food from what seemed to be a vegetable of some sort. He continued to eat around the piece of paper until our waitress walked by at which time he pointed it out and handed it to her and she replied" oh you have a piece of paper on your food" she took it away and we though she was going to show the owner or manager and would offer us something all though we would of turned it down, the gesture would have gone a long way. About 10 minutes later the waitress returned with our check and still no apology for what was in my friends food, at that point we decided not to leave a tip as we felt she should have acknowledged that this was an issue. We left after paying the bill and we were chatting out in the parking lot for a few minutes when the waitress showed up and exclaimed " hey you guys didn't leave me a gratuity " and my friend replied, there was a reason for that, there was a label in my food and you did nothing to acknowledge the fact which she replied, it's wasn't my fault! He in turn said you should have told the manager and she said I am the manager! Which in our minds makes it even worse!!!At this point a patron that was obviously a regular cane to her defense when he was not aware of what had transpired and started to yell at my friend not to talk to her in that way and another patron joined in while myself and out other friend stood by watching. We approached after the second person started cussing at our friend to get the F out of here while they walked back into the establishment and my friend followed, this prompted the owner to come out and shove my friend telling him to leave. My friend then explained what the problem was with the food while retaliating against the other patrons who kept yelling for him to F ing leave. When the owner realized that he was not informed of the service issue he immediately apologized for the mistake and invited us back on a different day. Sadly the point of this is they should have made an offer to reimburse us for the hassle of the waitress putting us in a situation that she was clearly wrong to confront us on seeing as she did not inform management and come to find out it was his daughter!! Long and short of it is food was good, service was good to the point of serving the customer but being confronted by a mob trying to protect who the obviously know ( think of cheers where everyone knows your name) and the fact that the daughter should of know not to confront customers for services they felt were not up to standards and you can choose for yourself if you want to chance the owners daughter having a bad day!

At this point she statedI don't have time for this...

You had me at N U T E L L A

Nutella french toast that is ;)

Thank you yelp for helping me find this little gem and one of my new favorite breakfast spots of all time!

We literally drove 1.5 hours to get here with a line out the door that moved pretty quick and I have to say: ZERO REGRETS. It was worth every mile and every second that took to get here!

This little homie, cozy, foodie spot totally stole my heart with their farmhouse-style ambiance and delicious, innovative food and coffee.

From the moment we walked in til the moment we left, the staff was nice and friendly with outstanding customer service that excelled. What I mean by this is everyone greeted you even just with a smile and transmitted happiness and love for what they do. By the time you order your food you've already become a part of the family and can't wait to try your delicious meal.

They have a small variety of different coffee flavors such as strawberry shortcake, Jamaican me crazy and Hazelnut. I tried all three and honestly it was a hard choice to pick my favorite.

We stuck to french toast and home fries so I got to try the Nutella and strawberry while my hubby stuck to the cream cheese and strawberry. As a Nutella junkie, you already know which one was my fave ;)

I have to say this, and I can't say it enough, french toast will never be my first choice for breakfast EVER. Once I saw the stuffed french toast on someone else's plate I knew that's what I wanted. I wasn't disappointed, not one bit.

The bread wasn't too thick or too thin, perfectly moist but not too much. The stuffing layers were perfect and the portion size was optimal. Once you cut through that stuffed french toast and go through the layers it holds its fluffiness and doesn't flatten out, the tart of the strawberry mixed with the richness of the Nutella dipped in a little bit of fluffy, airy, whipped cream makes the perfect balance.

Home fries: perfect salt, crisp, softness and crunch. Honestly one of the best I've had.

Next time I go I would love to try something else on the menu but it will be a little hard since I think this stuffed french toast with Nutella and strawberry has officially stole my heart.

Im so happy to have found this awesome little gem and I can't believe these guys don't have 5 stars. This food is out of this world.

Thank you for spoiling my taste buds and making them travel. Best,...

Went to Ken's with my parents who were in town so they could see their 11 month old grand son. Loved the kid's toys outside and assumed it was a family friendly place. Had to wait but totally expected with busy breakfast time and not a lot of options in the area.

Sat down and anyone who has kids... when you sit down, your little one is a ticking time bomb. When the waitress came by, I had extremely politely asked when she was doing coffee orders if I could put my son's order in first. The attitude and tone I got actually surprised me. She told me they don't do staggered orders and proceeded to tell me that it's going to be a long wait and there's 21 tickets in front of me. She offered that the only thing she could bring is fruit because of "how long it's going to take..." It was the rudest thing to start the morning with and I was so surprised because of how unnecessary it was. I hit her back with the same tone and energy she was giving saying we were ready to order then. She very obviously sighed and rolled her eyes then took our order.

Within 5 minutes our order was out and she even had the audacity to say she was surprised it was fast this time. I get it -- you're running around everywhere, it's fast paced, and dealing with a lot. But don't take it out on the customer, particularly one you can see has a little one who's going through pouches like he's never eaten.

I wish I got her name but she had black rimmed glasses, shoulder length hair, black top eyeliner and wore a black thick headband. If my dad didn't pay, I would have debated leaving less than a 20% tip. Just wasn't warranted. Sad that a great place like that with the vibes they have going on have staff like that.

Food was delicious and the rest of the staff was super nice and moving. Place was what I would expect for a cute, small and bustling spot. Had a giant line outside waiting when we left — so it very obviously is good. Just ask for any other...
