We came here for the first time on the evening of June 7th to celebrate my birthday before going to see the back to future musical. We were excited by the extensive menu but very disappointed in the quality of the food. Everything LOOKED good but appearances were deceiving. We started with the egg roll sampler appetizer- we couldn’t tell one from the other and most of the sauces were watery. One looked like corned beef inside which wasn’t listed and the Philly cheesesteak ones were missing unless they were the corned beef looking ones. So we decided since the appetizer was bad it just meant we had room for dessert. For entrees- My husband got the pretzel burger which was pretty decent with the mac and cheese as a side which was passable but not exciting. I ordered the tortellini with broccolini. This proved to be a mistake. The tortellini were over boiled. Soggy and mushy. The broccolini on the other hand seemed raw not even steamed and with no flavor whatsoever. I barely picked at my entree but instead shared my husband’s. So we decided we would each order a giant cupcake for dessert. I got the PB chocolate and he got the vanilla birthday cake. First off, for $10 each they were not giant cupcakes. They were about the size you’d get a bakery. Large cupcakes with a lot of icing. Unfortunately the icing was over sweet and the cupcakes themselves severely dry almost stale tasting. It seemed maybe they had been frozen and then thawed. Either way we didn’t eat more than a few bites before asking for our check. This was not at all the type of meal we were happy to pay $100 for- we probably would have been happier with sonic. We won’t be returning to this location and probably not to the chain as a whole.

Maggie’s used to be one of our go to places when we lived in Portland, CT. We have since moved away but went to Hartford to see a show so decided to make a stop at Maggie’s on our way home. The Good. The cupcakes and cappuccino were on point. Hubby enjoyed his chicken avocado sandwich. In the past I have had pasta dishes that have been amazing (at the Manchester location) The Bad. Tonight I choose to have a burger, specifically the Fig and Brie burger. If you have ever had Fig and Brie you know it’s a delicious combo. The burger was terrible. The patty itself was charred on the outside and had zero flavor. There was little to no Brie and an abundance of fig jam that was filled with seeds, this threw off the texture of the meal. The fries were underwhelming as if they had been sitting for some time. How hard is it to get a burger and fries right? Especially when they are close to $20? The Ugly - Our soda was flat, and when we pointed this out to the server she brought an equally flat second soda to us. (Adjust your seltzer/syrup mix…restaurant 101) They have discontinued the breadsticks that used to be an awesome buffer as the main meals usually do take time to be served. I’m sad that my initial excitement to be back at Maggie’s fell flat by my poor menu choice.

I find Maggie's is good at many things. It has a wide variety of foods and most of them are tasty. There is a bar and outdoor seating if that is your speed. The Tex-Mex Egg rolls I highly recommend with the delicious side of guacamole for dipping. The large baked Pretzels are another side I enjoy with a cheese dipping sauce. I have really enjoyed the Southwest Chicken Dinner, Pot Roast, Teriyaki Bowl, and Crab Cake dinners. Today I had my first miss. The fries as always were great. They have a nice suttle crunch yet soft middle. I tried the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. It's very well presented, but the flavor was just not there. It needed a lot more cheese and a lot less "short rib" that tasted more like a slice of pot roast. My Vegetarian daughter does really enjoy the impossible burgers ( and she is quite picky). I would still recommend this place. Much more hits than misses.

I came to maggies mcflys based on recommendations from my coworkers. They all said "its similar to cheesecake factory"...outside of a massive, borderline overwhelming menu, they were wrong. This place is so much better. The options were unending...everyone can find something here with how diverse the menu is. Before we even ordered, I loved the place. Very open and inviting atmosphere, clean as hell. Even the bathroom was spotless(i had been shopping with my wife all day, and made a trip the second we were given our booth). Only complaint on the bathroom was a damaged lock on the stalls, but any busy restaurant faces those kind of issues). I was between 2 dishes, and went with the servers recommendations, and was over the top happy with it. We had ordered the lobster bisque breadbowl to split, which was flawless. The soup was delicious, but even more so, the breadbowl was next level. Fluffy, and crispy at the same time. Nothing was left when the server came back. Speaking of the server. We were lucky enough to have Jonathan. Dude was amazing. He was super attentive, while at the same time never being disruptive or anything like that. There was one point he past us, and I caught him out of the corner of my eye, checking our waters and that we seemed to both be enjoying our meals, without awkwardly interrupting us mid bite cliche of "is everything to your liking" his tact was absolutely flawless! As far as the food...omg....my wife got the bang bang shrimp and chicken. And it was incredible. She had to fight her pregnancy appetite to ensure she had leftovers for the next days(she may have had to fight me off of eating her leftovers) and I got, upon Jonathan's recommendation, the steak frite special. Now I am infamous for never finishing my meal...I order based on what would I want leftovers of. But it was so perfect, that beyond sanitizing, they really had to put no effort into cleaning my plate. I made one more trip to the restroom, and Jonathan made a comment to my wife about "you two have been a breath of fresh air during my shift today" it made my wife feel great.

Tl:Dr-the entire experience was incredible. Menu was great, food was even better. But what really set our experience apart from other restaurants, was our server, Jonathan. 10/10 will absolutely be returning very soon!

And in case the GM is seeing this. Give that dude, Jonathan, a raise. He...

Unfortunately the accuracy of the food orders that we recieved at Maggie McFlys was subpar. There were multiple mix ups on both my order and a separate takeout order I placed for my family. When we first got there, we received a menu with pages missing so we spent ten minutes looking for menu items that we saw online. When we asked about online items, we were given another menu so that was solid, so we appreciated the quick correction. However, I ordered a half salad half pizza. I received a full pizza and when I inquired on the spot the waitress mentioned they would send the half salad out and that I could keep the full pizza. The salad took about 25 minutes to come out which was frustrating but I tried to be understanding since they did aim to remedy the situation by allowing me to keep the full pizza. I then placed a planned separate take out order for family members at home, this was also incorrect. I asked for two Philly steak egg rolls, truffle fries and tiramisu. Upon receiving the takeout bag, the tiramisu was missing. One complete order of Philly steak egg rolls was also missing (and also not on the receipt that I paid for) so I confirmed with the waitress that I did want a second order of steak egg rolls which I was willing to pay additional money for (due to a family request) to which she responded that she would put another order in for me right away. I waited an additional 15 minutes and when they came out the waitress shared that the second egg roll order would be on the house due to the multiple mistakes, which I really appreciated, HOWEVER, upon getting home and checking the food items, the kitchen gave me a second order of truffle fries, not eggrolls , which is so frustrating after I spent additional time waiting there specifically for what I ordered. All in all, the wait staff did their best to try and remedy the errors in fulfilling the orders properly and tried to comp me due to this mistakes but the multiple errors were extremely frustrating. After spending over $140 there, I would expect the orders that I place to be accurate, as a minimum. There should be more done to track the specific orders of customers to maintain accuracy. Multiple inaccuracies made this a below average...

Usually I love Maggie McFly’s as they have great options for gluten free, however I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with our latest visit. I ordered chicken Milanese and said gluten free. When our order finally arrived, I started to eat the chicken when I realized it had fettuccine noodles and not penne- the only gluten free form of pasta they offer. It took about 5 minutes before I could track down a server to help me. When she came over she said oh, “you wanted gluten free pasta too?” And I said, “yes, I have a gluten intolerance and I asked for gluten free.” She said, “oh yeah, you’re right. The kitchen messed up.” She then took my plate and went to the kitchen. It was another 15-20 minutes before I got my food. My fiancé was never offered ketchup for his fries and had to steal a random bottle from the bar. He finished his entire meal before I finally got mine. We asked when we got the bill if there was anything they could do for us for the messed up order and long wait. The waitress said she’d ask the manager. She returned saying, “the manager said there’s nothing we can take off. Sorry.” Didn’t offer any discount or free dessert or anything for screwing up my order, and not just a simple mess up but what could have been a more serious issue if this was an allergy over an intolerance. Any place I have been that has messed up an order like that has always offered some sort of compensation for the delay and problem. Here we were just told to deal with it. And “sorry.” Always thought Maggie McFly’s took care of their customers but apparently that’s not the case in Glastonbury. I’ll think twice before going back to that location. Would not recommend for anyone with dietary restrictions looking to enjoy a nice meal out.

Just what I thought- radio silence. I reached out as instructed and no one ever got back to me. I will not be going back to this location and will never...
