I’d like to start by saying that we regularly go to this location and have only ever had excellent service in the past.
When we went in today (6/13) at around 7:40pm to pick up a mobile order, the drinks were ready very quickly despite there only being two baristas working. However, the drinks (two Frappuccinos) were filled by half whipped cream, half coffee, despite our instructions for light whip. (to be clear, a Frappuccino should never be half whipped cream anyway—that’s a scam and not up to Starbucks’s standards—but that’d besides the point)
This situation isn’t the problem though—miscommunication happens all the time. The issue arose when the barista who made the drinks proceeded to chat with a friend (who was not ordering) for 5+ minutes while we stood there trying to get her attention. When we eventually got the attention of the other working barista, Patrick, he was extremely helpful (even while he was manning both the front counter and the drive through during his coworker’s absence). He saw the issue with the order and said he’d get them remade.
When the original barista eventually got around to making the new drinks, she came over to us and began lecturing us on the fact that Frappuccinos have whipped cream on the top and bottom (we are aware of this. That is why we order light whip.) and stating that those were the drinks that we ordered.
When we explained that we understood and that normally when we order light whip here they either omit the bottom whipped cream entirely or put less overall, she stormed over to the order screen and angrily told us that she missed the light whip instructions.
When we finally got our drinks, they were very mediocre, and had basically no whipped cream (she was obviously annoyed by remaking them, even though that is Starbucks policy). By that point, we were just ready to leave, so we took the drinks and left.
I’ve never felt quite that condescended to by a Starbucks barista before. We’re very disappointed, especially as this could all have been avoided if she had read the drink instructions either of the times she made it, especially before lecturing us on her correctness.
TLDR: Barista was preoccupied with her friend while on duty. When we asked for our drinks to be remade, we were lectured on how it ‘should’ be made until she re-read the order for a third time and saw our instructions. End result:...
Read moreVisited the morning of 02/21 after 8AM, in the drive-thru - after I placed my order the barista said, "Our credit card machine is down I can take your card to our register." I replied, "I am paying with tap." The barista said, "I can take your phone to do tap." I replied, "I am not giving you my phone." Then she replied, "You can come inside to pay." I said, "I came through the drive-through for a reason." I canceled my order and had to wait in line to get out of it. As soon as I got out of the drive-thru I called the store to speak to the manager and because they weren't there I talked to an unprofessional shift lead. I informed her of what took place and she said, "Our machine has been down for two days and it's out of our control - we have already called it in." During our conversation when I was telling her the workers shouldn't be taking anyone's phone to complete the payment she started putting words in my mouth saying, “Well, I understand it’s uncomfortable for you to hand your phone over to us.” I never said it was uncomfortable for me - the shift lead was putting words in my mouth & kept talking over me - I got no where with her so I am leaving this review. If your credit card machine has been down for two days in the drive-thru DO WHAT IS IN YOUR CONTROL, PUT A SIGN UP & STOP TAKING CARD PAYMENT IN THE DRIVE-THRU. Taking customers' phones to take payments is a LIABILITY! Is Starbucks going to take responsibility for the barista adding their own tip? That's fraud. What happens if the phone gets dropped and there is damage? Is Starbucks going to take responsibility? Please educate staff on this issue & just because your staff and location may not have these issues (yet) doesn't mean it still doesn't happen to...
