There is no way I would take children or pets to this "park" and let them romp around on the grass, or worse yet, throw out a blanket for a picnic. This was a city dump in the 50's when I was a kid. I lived south of there, just up the hill. As you can imagine, there was no regard for hazardous materials back then. One reviewer here describes the rolling surface of the grass. That is a result of the way all the garbage underneath rotted and settled. I can't believe the City put picnic tables in there. Do they test there to see what might be percolating to the surface?...
