First time coming here for dinner. I was looking for good or great Irish fare of corned beef and cabbage; with red potatoes. My hopes and expectations were high based upon the reviews and stars. I started off with the broccoli and cheddar soup. A very good soup. Plenty of broccoli; with a subtle taste of cheddar. Not too thick as some soups can be. My entree arrived after finishing my soup. Its appearance seemed ok; just not what I was looking for. The corned beef was sliced thin. While tender, it was a bit on the dry side. The cabbage was chopped, and had a peculiar taste. Pork or fatback was added. Not my choice when I steam cabbage. The potatoes were mashed. The taste was like that of coming from a box, and over whipped. A lot of flavor was missing from this dish that should be simple. Butter would have been ideal for the cabbage that should not have been chopped, but left in 1/4ers. And small red potatoes ideal for corned beef that shouldn’t have been sliced so thin. I didn’t finish most of the cabbage and beef. The demi glaze was left too. I can’t recall a time having this dish served with gravy. My choice in beverage was a Guinness beer. That didn’t disappoint. I liked the touch put on the foam where the appearance of a clover ☘️ could be seen. I noticed bread pudding as a dessert, and ordered that to see if my meal could end on a positive note. It was delicious. Very moist, and flavorful; with the right amount of sauce. If one thing could have been added to kick up the flavor… I’d add raisins. Memories of Mom’s bread pudding using day old cinnamon raisin bread came to mind. I may return, but I won’t be ordering the corned beef and cabbage. The Shepherd’s pie would interest me. Service was fine. Amber was attentive, and pleasant. The restaurant was warm, and offered adequate seating at the bar. While the weather is pleasant, the patio looked very nice. There is ample parking. And lastly, the restrooms were clean.

Out and about looking for a local spot we’d not been yet and came across Tim Finnegan’s. The vibe looking at the front doors and quaint patio instantly had me knowing I was going to like it. It looked like what I’d envision an Irish pub would look like. Once inside we walked into a busy place with a seat yourself sign. We opted for a booth near the bar since all the bar seats were full. After about 4-5 minutes someone greeted us and took our drink orders while also dropping off menus. There were some really great options. I wish I could’ve tried so many, but opted for fish and chips. My husband ordered the Rueben with scallop potatoes. The cider I ordered was so good. There are many great beers on tap of course your typical Guinness etc of course as well. Food came out pretty quick. Fish was good, coleslaw great, but the fries awful, soggy and no flavor. The Rueben was huge and looked so good. I’d never seen a Rueben with coleslaw on it, but after taking a bite to try it I really enjoyed it. Rueben’s are not my thing, but this one was delicious. The scallop potatoes while they looked unappealing they were good as well. Service was okay, but they were definitely short staffed. It was obvious they were trying their best, but struggling a bit to keep up. The vibe inside was great. Not super dark, good mix of high tops, booths, regular tables and the bar made make it easy to find your spot. I loved that the bar offered purse hooks as well as charging ports if needed. This small touch goes a long way. I hate when I have to hold my purse or worry about not being able to keep an eye on it. I could definitely see coming back. Great stop.

The pub atmosphere is great but I wish that as an Irish themed bar there would periodically be some Irish tunes, esp. Tim Finnegan song. Even if it were just one good ol' Irish folk song stuck in every half hour or so.... There are Irish rock groups if they feel they need to be more modern, fine instrumentals with an Irish melody that allows for some conversation in between the regular fare. Sampler plates like the Irish Breakfast are great, so put on a few more. I wanted to see the picture on the Guinness head like I'd seen in the reviews but sadly mine didn't have one--that would have been a special touch. Some Irish Soda bread would be a great addition--a warm biscuit sized mini loaf with an entree would get people wanting to buy some to-go and also it could be something to be known for--or a tiny muffin of that brown bread--just an amuse bouche sort of gesture to make the experience more memorable. Sell some stuff like glasses (sell some Irish and Guinness memorabilia--second hand is best--not cheap plastic imports). They could get some local artists to hang works interspersed with the regular pictures and it can freshen things up regularly. Signage needs improvement esp. at intersection area. Nice outdoor seating area but some plantings would add ambiance. The fries were a little pale rather than golden. A little more coleslaw with the fish and chips would be appreciated. Great beer specials for $4! Hope they will continue to do that as it's quite the incentive. Fish was good but between the outer batter and the fish a mite gummy, and could be a little cheaper.

My wife and I cant remember the name of out server. But we came in on 11/19/23 from around 2:45- 4:30pm for our anniversary date. We have 2 special needs kids so of course the kids came out with us. Our server went above and beyond anything we could have even asked for. Right away he recognized that we had special needs kids with us and he made every effort to make our dining experience enjoyable. He brought us real menus so we didn't have to look things up on our phones, which we were grateful for!! Our son ordered "the largest coke you have" and our server said ok I can do that. My wife was impressed with this response because usually people will try to explain to him that they don't have extra large drinks. When the server brought big red cups he told the kids that he brought out the biggest ones they have. It was the perfect response! Our server crouched down to the hight of the table so we could hear him better and this approach even went over well with the kids. The kids both felt comfortable with talking with our server and interacting with him. Our server gave us plenty of time to read the menus to the kids and make meal selections for all 4 of us. After we ordered our server came back to the table and offered coloring books to our kids while they wait. Now we know coloring books are usually offered to little kids so we didn't expect this to be offered to our 2 teenaged kiddos. Our server shared a little bit of his background with us and how he used to work with in the schools and how he understood how hard it can be. My wife and I were please to have met someone who understands that we came in already a bit worn-out. When I briefly mentioned to the server that it is our anniversary he made it a point to shake our hands and say congratulations to us. Just his overall kindness and situational awareness was impressive. We were impressed with the fun design that came on the top of my beer, we had never seen that on beer before. The kids even wanted pictures of it🙂 The food tastes amazing. Everything we ordered was tasty and better then we had ever had when ordering similar foods at other restaurants. Our server even gave us a surprise desert at the end and it was a type of feed neither of would have ordered and as it turns out, it was also delicious.

If you have not tried this place, you...

A nice spot from years past. Unfortunately, playing a song on their jukebox was like conducting witchcraft. The entire staff was confused by what was happening and they basically turned the volume near zero to solve it. I didn't play anything out of the norm. I will get my money back from AMI and sadly just not go back. This place was jumping during covid. Perhaps there are new owners.

Edit after response from owner: The bartender was nice and she did what she could to respond kindly and after I declined any further drinks, she was nice enough to reiterate that she attempted to turn up the music to a hearable volume but it didn't work. That being said, I literally threw $10 in the trash because one of the waiters reacted to a very mild increase in the music volume(a known thing on their sound system for years) as if I had hacked their sound system. It was still VERY modest in volume. I don't understand why he reacted in that way. It was as if he didn't even know that patrons were able to spend money to hear specific songs. It was super bizarre.

If the owner would like to review me personally, I will happily meet you and hash this out. I'm a reasonable person and if all parties involved are willing to participate, we can definitely schedule this meeting.

It doesn't seem unfair to point out the fact that I spent money and recieved nothing in return. I was being as objective as possible and fair with the 3 stars. If the owner feels that paying money does not entitle a customer to recieve something in return, I would love to discuss that in person.

I'm not kidding... I absolutely want to have this conversation in person....
