Tired of dining amidst 49 TV screens and accepting a low-brow, frat house, noisy-pub type atmosphere? Want something a little quieter, and a little more grown up. Then look no further than the Salted Cod Arthouse. You'll get a manageable selection of tasty small plates, desserts, wine and beer. Ok it's true there's no hard alcohol, but they have some great cocktails they've made up nonetheless. And the cool part? You can browse from a hand curated selection of artwork and jewelry made by local artisans while you chill out, nibble, talk and listen to cool vibes of Italian and French jazz. I rate the location an A and the staff in A+

Salted Cod Arthouse is part bar, part restaurant, and part art gallery - what a dream! I sipped on a Rockport Brewing’s Pescato Italian Pilsner while browsing the gallery. The views from here are just incredible as well, go at sunset for a breathtaking photo opp! & how cool to be able to purchase 2 beautiful prints and get to meet the artist who happened to be working that day?!

The food is just small plates, but very good and well presented. The beer and wine selection was plenty to keep me happy and after watching a few espresso martinis get prepared I had to cave in and order one. I was not disappointed. And looked at and bought some art, so I feel I did the full experience there.

The Salted Cod is a real gem in the Rocky Neck, and easily one of my favorite places to have a good time in Gloucester. Starting with the cool historic building, the vibe here is always nice, with fun music and a mix of locals, artists and tourists (in the summer). The servers are also super friendly and personable, which makes me feel at home. They have an excellent selection of wines, delicious spritz, beer on draft, and all the drinks are very reasonably priced. This place is perfect for having a small bite, coffee or dessert while enjoying the water views. I also love how they support the local artists and always have new interest pieces for sale. We love "the Cod", highly...

100% my favorite spot in Gloucester! It’s so easy to pop in for a coffee or even better, a glass of wine. It’s casual, relaxed and really just all around the best. The views are GREAT and in the summer when the door is open and a nice breeze comes through there is nothing better. ALL the bartenders are so nice and wonderful to top it off. Just stop thinking about going and GO! I’ve turned every single one of my family members onto this place and they all love it...
