I read good reviews so I wanted to try this place. I was quite disappointed. I ordered the chicken bomb. It was just ok. The description says onions and peppers which, being a sub place, I thought would be fresh, then cooked on a griddle. Instead, I got preserved veggies which tasted alright but the put very few. Also, the chicken cutlets were a bit salty and didn't taste very fresh. My husband ordered and eggplant sandwich which was more tasty then mine; however, the eggplant tasted like it was dropped in the oil before the oil had reached the correct temperature. We also got an almond cannolo. It was ok, the cream was good but the pastry part was premade, not baked fresh, then they just fill it. On the positive side, it has decent prices and they did have cool Italian products you can buy. I'd come back for those but skip the sandwiches...

When I walked through the door I knew I walked into a hidden jewel. All my dreams came true. The bread alone is the best I've ever had! I opted to try a sandwich on the most heavenly roll ever! The selections are almost overwhelming because there are so many hot and cold selections that are so good you will drool just thinking about it! Let me tell you that they are all amazing to taste. You can pick from several fresh baked breads to pile the deliciousness on! And pile high they do! While your waiting for your tasty treat you can mull over the incredible packaged pastas, homemade sauces, and other top knotch foods they offer there. The homemade sauce is to die for! Bravo! Once in awhile you find a real jewel and Virgilio's is it! I wish I had more than two thumbs to put up for this little quaint shop in the heart of...
